The End of Cro-Magnon

Hi all,

I hope you're all doing great. As someone who has met more cavemen than I care to admit, I wanted to write a song about it, which will go into my musical about busking in Central Park, NYC. I define Cro magnon as a caveman with a sense of entitlement. Hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics:

Cro magnon, get out of town

Caveman shit show can't go on

Killing the world with your low IQ

Trashing the earth, inhabitants too

The time has come Cro magnon

Throw yourself down the john

Beating your chest like you rule the world

You have no answers, stumbling fool

Swinging your club of entitlement

Sputtering sounds, incoherent

Fearful of everything you see

Neurotic eyes peer at you and me

Unable to sit and be aware

Evolve out of your drunken stare

You fell of your truck, right on your butt

Delusions of grandeur, lost your luck

No one gave you the king's crown

Your bloodline runs sewage brown

Bums with an attitude, what a joke

Your time is up, cut the rope

Cro magnon, Cro magnon it's time to go

Drove us to the ground, a shit show, gotta know

Killing the world with your low IQ

Trashing the earth, inhabitants too

The time has come Cro magnon

Throw yourself down the john

It's time to go, Cro magnon

  • Hi Paulina. I'm always happy to hear your music. This is fun but I can certainly relate to the lyrics! We have a few cavemen running the show over here right now. If we ever get back to NYC, I'll be looking out for you busking in the park. Keep 'em comin..😀

  • That's a really different style for you! I like it - it fits the lyric perfectly. The caveman noises work very well too.

And some biting lyrics in there!

    Very good!

  • me gusta. I can visualize this cro-magon character in my head quite well

Very amusing, Paulina! Funny stuff! This song would have fit nicely into Dr. Demento's weekly countdown, which aired right after Casey Kasum's AT40 back in the 70s. 🤣

I also found your Valentine's Day medley on your channel and enjoyed that too. You're very talented! 😀

  • Thank you, all! I feel like songwriting is one way of coping with life's challenges and if I can inject some humor into it, all the better!

  • That was fun! I love the sound effects.

It's unusual to see Cro Magnon presented as the primitive one instead of the much maligned Neanderthal.

  • Hi @highvibrational

What a fun song. I love the rhymes/lyrics and you have a very beautiful voice. A really unique listen. Almost psychedelic sounding. I can imagine this on a Jefferson Airplane album. Great work. I enjoyed the drawings too.

  • Thank you Gavin and CCB. It arose after too many years of simmering like a pot. :) I really appreciate your comments as I am going purely by instinct.

For some reason, Neanderthal isn't as lyrical as Cro-Magnon spoken in the French way!
