Just Out Of Reach

One of my latest with help from Suno. I may never turn on the recorder again.

“Just Out Of Reach”

Words & Music By Tom Tognaci

Lord, grace me with a song, one the whole wide world will hear

Help me write this song, one that’s music to the ear

I know it’s out there… out of reach

I know it’s out there… just out of reach

Lord, whisper to me words; ones that open these locked doors

Untangle my tongue with such words, not mine but yours

I know they’re out there… out of reach

I know they’re out there… just out of reach

I’ll leave a lamp lit on my roll-top

My pen and paper will be yours

Take your time, Lord, for I am patient

As I’ve been, time after time, before

Lord, help me light the fire that inspires a melody

One forged in the hearth in the flames of harmony

I know it’s out there… out of reach

I know it’s out there… just out of reach

Great song very well done, enjoyed that a lot. Very professional.

  • Hey Tom , sounds radio ready , that's well written

  • Strong lyric, and Suno has done a great job with it. It nailed the ending too, which it sometimes has trouble with.

    Good sound!

Great song my friend It's amazing what AI can do...I keep thinking I should use AI to write and or enhance my songs..and then the voice in my head says..doan do that...stay primitive and pure , don't let the tech suck you into believing your natural creativeness can't satisfy your creative needs...I guess there's something wrong with me

  • Hi bhengen... thanks for the wonderful review. The lyrics and melody were a lucky fit. ;-)

Thanks Sid.... I appreciate you stopping by.

Hi Elvis. And since I haven't actually thanked you lately, allow me to do so now. Thanks!

A.I. is some crazy technology with how it did what it did. Everyone loves it. How did you craft the melody? It's so close to what I had. I wrote the song with G / D / Em / C. There were some really cool variations, but it was very recognizable. Did Suno just spit that out or was there a plethora of choices? The music was awesome. I wrote this as a 1+1, just me and guitar. I like the Suno version way better. Thanks, again.

    Yeah.....it's too good!

Thanks for commenting. it's much appreciated.

    Hi Stoneflowers...

I've been struggling with that same question, lately. These days, I'm considered a purest, and I have way over a hundred songs on record... some 60+ on Soundclick. I would much rather have a recording of myself on one of my songs than to have an A.I. recording of my song. My family is going to want to be able to experience my very spirit and soul through the music and recordings I leave behind. With that said, no one wants to hear my mediocre efforts, outside my family. A.I. is highly polished and "radio-ready" which is the only version most people want to hear.

So, you have to ask yourself: who are you writing and recording for?

That's the only question worth answering.

The only problem with AI is promotion as a artist , I'm sure it can be done . I guess scaping every guitar lick out there to create melody in 3 seconds, it finds something more intersting than the G...D...EM...C . I bitched and screamed on AI 6 months ago lol

@IronKnee what a beautiful sentiment to our Lord and Savior. For without Him, we are nothing. And I see you used AI on this and that is your free will to do so. However, with the beautiful lyric you've written with the help of the Father, I doubt you needed AI of which I consider contrary to the Almighty's power. Would love to hear your own heart and soul on this; the heart and soul the Master made you fully equipped with. Nothing compares.

@StoneFlowers there's NOTHING 'wrong' with you. AbSOlutely nothing. The struggle is well worth it! 😊

  • I guess you can say, nothing is perfect. ;-). Naw always something

  • I agree. And thank you for your support.

I don't know anything about SUNO and how it works. This was done for me as a gift. All I know is the end product. The lyrics are mine, as is the melody which is remarkably close. The production is of professional quality and the singer has "Star" potential (that is, if he was not a machine).

I really like the SUNO production, however I write for myself and family. And believe it or not, this SUNO production has inspired a bit of jealousy amongst others on a different site. Posting this was not my intent and won't be doing any SUNO producing myself.

I like / love what I do, regardless of the response of others.

    Thanks, again, Renee

    And God Bless

Couple of things. 1. The melody (even if it's real close to what you wrote) is not still yours alone unless they uploaded the vocal melody from you and the Suno software only added the music. There are some legal ramifications here that dictate some care being taken. If YOU provided the vocal melody, then it remains yours. But what they create, belongs to THEM, and you just have a license to use it. 2. The "singer" is almost certainly not a human, but software created. I'm not aware of Suno using any real singers. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure. I read (and evaluated) the lyric and found it to be really good. NOW. . . I'll go listen. I've found that I get a better listening experience if I read first, and then listen.

Okay. . . now I've listened. Easily the best Suno Song I've heard to date. Either the software did the best job I've yet heard of selecting a perfect vocal melody OR you provided the vocal melody and they just added music to it. I would love to know which is true. If you provided the vocal melody, then it would explain why the usual failures to find a good artistic cadence weren't produced by the software. I've not yet uploaded anything and don't know if one can upload vocal melodies and lyrics. VERY interested to know how you did this.

  • Yes, the best Suno song I've heard too. I still hope you turn the recorder back on real soon. Not that there's anything wrong with this - far from it, but...well, I think you know where I'm comin' from.😀

  • its probably one of the best songs written and execution by AI that I've heard , If publishers took AI songs , this might stand a chance

  • Hey there HT...

I have no idea as to how this was created, and the melody just seemed to fall in place as to how I wrote it. The production is far beyond something would do. It's stellar.

Ramifications? There is no money involved. And if there were, I'm sure me and the guy who SUNO'd my song would form a partnership very quickly. As far as SUNO, they would get whatever they are entitled. LOL.... money??... now that's a dream.

I'm just tickled pink that there are those saying that this production is one of the best SUNO production they've heard. That would explain why some site snobs (other sites than this, of course) choose to ignore this.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Chris... thanks for commenting. I have been uninspired lately with any recording but have no intentions of never recording.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks, Elvis. I'm not sure about "one of the best songs ever written"

But I sure love the sound of it!

    Thanks!

  • its genius Tom

  • If so, in this case, it's in all the details that made this song.

Hey Tom, nice tune. Like everyone else is saying, this sounds absolutely incredible for a Suno track. I’ve only just started playing around with it the past few days, but it’s enough to know that prompting is absolutely its own kind of skill, and it takes a lot of patience and tweaking stuff here and there, and a little bit of luck, to get the result you want. You did good on this one. Good lyrics paired with a fitting melody. 👍
  • Thanks, Tom

I appreciate you posting your comments. I wonder if you could post a comment on that other site ;-)
