new album artwork
Greetings, songwriters! I've written 15 songs to accompany my forthcoming horror novel about a dark enchantress and her apprentice. The novel is entitled "Omega's Dark: The Transference". The enchantress and her apprentice are empowered by the ancient Greek Goddess Eris; the goddess of strife and discord. Of the 15 songs I've written for the project, I've selected 12 for the CD. I've record demos for eight of those, and I'm working on creating demos for the remaining four. I plan to finish my novel by Christmas, and self-publish it to Amazon. 😀
This is the possible artwork for the back of the CD.

Thank you, Sid! You do as well! With the number of songs you compose daily, have you considered writing a novel with supporting songs? It could be a fun project for you. 😀
Cheers,
Joseph

I think you might be better with one single picture, rather than the three portraits, and make it much more dramatic - Eris standing on a hilltop in a storm at night with lightning blazing from her fingers- that sort of thing.
You definitely want the track list to be clear and legible, but if it could sit on top of an image that took up the whole space and still be legible that might work better. Might be difficult though. If the image had a section of dark blues or purples then white writing might have enough contrast.
If you choose to stay with the 3 portraits, then I'd look at the backgrounds of those images. Omega in particular is very plain and looks like a photo portrait. Is there something you could put in the background to draw out her personality or role?

Many thanks for your excellent ideas, Owen, and for taking time to post those! I definitely like all of your suggestions. I'll see what I can come up with. 😀
Cheers,
Joseph

I have only two songs left to write to support my forthcoming fictional horror/thriller novel. I've replaced two tracks (namely "Your Winter Eyes" and "Does a Sorceress Need Love?") with two new ones titled "Inorganic" and "Not of this World". I do plan to make a demo of "Your Winter Eyes" after I finish writing the final two songs for my book. It's a ballad, which doesn't for the book's theme. I dropped "Does a Sorceress Need Love?" because it was too close to the theme of "She Walks in Beauty in the Night" and the title is a bit cheesy too, although that was not intentional.
I'm currently working on a new demo for "Her Malevolence", which I shared an early version of in the forum earlier in the year. Once I finish the demo for it, I'll have a new video made for it. I have also begun writing "Inorganic", which is a song about the Greek Goddess Eris, and how she manifests her mischievous will through the beautiful enchantresses, Omega and Hedra, in my book. The song describes how they are lethal to mortals and not organic! It's an uptempo pop-rock track with an 80s flavor.
The final song, "Not of This World", is intended to be a song from one's point of view about knowing exactly what a man desires in a woman (or a woman desires in a man) as the perfect soul mate in this world, but never finding the ideal one. He (or she) ultimately concludes that the woman he needs (or the man she needs) does not exist in this world. It will be an uptempo pop-rock track, and possibly a duet with a female singer if I think it's a strong song.
I would like to go into a real studio and record several of my songs with an engineer and studio musicians to produce my favorite demo tracks into finished songs; probably the first three in my track list.

Kudos for seeing your project through to the end. But, CD's? Cars don't even have CD players anymore. If you want to offer a physical musical product, you might want to consider vinyl records instead. Vinyl now outsells CD's, and a 12-inch vinyl album jacket is the best presentation of your album artwork too.
Just my $0.02 (U.S.).
