lyrics SS music/vocals Ai

[intro]

[verse 1]

You pushed your luck, too far tonight,

did you think, doin' that was right?

Screwin' away, with that whore,

caught like rabbits on the floor.

[verse 2]

Packed your bags an' gone by morn',

ironic seein' you were bangin' Dawn.

Leave the keys, before you go,

pray you miss, her fella' Joe.

[chorus]

I've done said, all I'm gonna say,

ain't goin' down, on ma knees.

Won't beg or plead for you to stay,

yer can do, whatever you please.

[verse 3]

I'm a bit long in the tooth for this,

all this datin' an' doorstep kisses.

Need somebody who's gonna stay,

wants more than a roll in the hay.

[chorus]

I've done said, all I'm gonna say,

ain't goin' down, on ma knees.

Won't beg or plead for you to stay,

yer can do, whatever you please.

[verse 4]

I'm gonna lay me down some rules,

enough to keep away the fools.

Lookin' to attract the Mr Rights,

keep away the Friday night fights.

[chorus]

I've done said, all I'm gonna say,

ain't goin' down, on ma knees.

Won't beg or plead for you to stay,

yer can do, whatever you please.

[bridge]

Word's got 'round, ain't lookin' for jerks,

wanna clean shavin' man, can hold his drink.

It ain't room an' board, with usual perks,

be out on yer ass, if that's what you think.

[chorus]

I've done said, all I'm gonna say,

ain't goin' down, on ma knees.

Won't beg or plead for you to stay,

yer can do, whatever you please.

[outro]

Got ma self a good man Jeff,

Ugly as sin, so he won't stray.

Lost an ear, he's almost deaf,

said all I'm gonna say.

  • The lyric feels angrier than the AI version of the music to me. You might try for something a bit heavier and up tempo.

I'd prefer what you have as verse 4 to be the bridge, and maybe cut the length a little.

Not sure about the outro, it has a comedic feel to it that seems at odds with the rest.

  • Hilarious lyrics! No punches pulled πŸ˜€

Definitely tells a full story. I don't care for AI-created music so I only read the lyrics, but I imagine this would fit right into the '90s early '00s pop country vibe - Shania Twain would be all over verses like these!

  • I think the music might be a mismatch for the lyrics. I’m thinking you intended some humor (okay you DID write funny lyrics!) but the AI singer took it all too seriously, up to and including pronouncing β€œyer” quite correctly. Lyrics are good, AI does an amazing job these days, but *maybe* a happier, faster beat might go together better with the lyrics.
  • Hi guys,

    Thanks for the feedback appreciated.

Just a little background to the role played by Ai in my submissions.

I use Ai solely as a tool to help me improve my songwriting, (lyrics) and also to provide an assist to anyone who finds it easier/better to appreciate lyrics by listening to them.

I do not advocate or promote Ai in any shape or form that has a detrimental effect on real musicians.

Links to the Ai components of my lyrics are 100% voluntary, take it or leave it, I don't care one way or the other.

In selecting what music/vocals goes with what lyrics, I put little effort into it and as such take no credit for the output, it is just one of a myriad of options. In short, by all means comment on lyrics but your probably wasting your time saying anything about the music/vocals unless you have an academic interest, in which case, I would be glad to respond.

The above is, and always has been, my position in using Ai from day 1 on this forum, it fully complies with the rules and regulations of the site.

Hopes this gives you a clearer picture of where I'm coming from.

Other than the Ai issues, I really welcome and encourage your feedback on all other aspects.

    Thank you,

    Sid

  • @sidshovel - I hope you didn't take offense at my mention of AI, because none was intended. I really appreciate the fact that you write at the top of your posts that the lyrics are yours and the music is AI. It directs me to what's important, which is what you created.

I only brought up not having listened in my comment because I was talking about the style of song the lyrics brought to mind and thought it would be weird for me to suggest a style that might very well have been chosen.

  • No offense taken whatsoever Matt, it's just something I posted a while back before many of the new members joined. Older members are aware that I don't comment on Ai music/vocals because my input is minimal and the output more akin to whack-a-mole rather than any skill on my part.

I value all comments highly and learn a lot from them, so please continue to share your thoughts.

  • All apologies for being a new member πŸ˜‚ I need to re-read your response above again.
  • Tom

Re-read it from the POV that Ai is no more than a slot machine. You feed in the lyrics, give some broad requests, press the button and out pops a song. If you changed nothing and pressed the button ten times, you would get ten different songs. Honestly, having used both Udio and Suno every day for months on hundreds of songs, I can say that the whole concept is overrated and the output is generally mundane. It has its uses as a tool for lyricists to hang their words on and check how the lines flow, etc. but musically it is limited and often repetitive.

I personally, don't believe it deserves to be commented on in terms of what little went in for what came out.

    Sid

  • Rather than go off piste, I've started a new thread in General Discussions if anyone is interested in adding their experiences of Ai and whether they are as good as the press they're getting.

  • yeah i think the lyrics have way more personality than the AI singer portrays, it's a nice write man but the chords and melody doesn't seem to be anything new. Handy little tool though innit so you can hear words in a song form.

maybe someone here can perform it and give it the lift it deserves.

  • I think the same as @RainyDayMan
