Kid In Me

I'm not going to tell you how old I am, but yeah, I climbed my first tree back in the early 60's. Some how or other through the good, bad, ugly and really ugly times I've always been able to keep in touch with the kid in me. It's what keeps me sane. And I hope to hell I always will...
World of adventure in rapturous scenes
Places that make me climb to be free
Can’t wait to smile when I arrive
Cuz here he comes wild and free
Easy to tell he’s well and alive
Kidin me? The kid inside
He’s up in the hills again
Might be there all day
Trying to fly off a cliff again
He’s got eyes closed breath in
Climbs like a squirrel into the trees
Kidin me? The kid in meeeeee
Another tough day on rough terrain
You gotta just laugh and shake off the blame
Time to call in my best friend
He’s never too far he's always too brave
Goofing on pain when he arrives
Kidin me? the kid inside
We’re up in the hills again
Might be there all day
Trying to fly off a cliff again
We’ve got eyes closed breath in
Hang like a squirrel from the branch on a tree
Kidin me? The kid in meeeeeee
I’m keeping in touch cuz he’s keeping me sane
We’re riding away in a cowboy dream
Now here we go Break--
Kidin me? The kid in meeeeee
Yeah you’re kidin me. The kid in meeeeeee

It's a long time since I was a kid too! I think it's music that keeps us in touch with our younger selves. Great guitar and fabulous vocals. I've a lot of admiration for anyone who does it with just voice & guitar, especially when it's this good.
Excellent track.😀

Brilliant again, love the wordplay kidin me, the kid in me, genius!
Your cheque bounced so I'm not going to say how good the music and vocals are.
The lyrics captured those carefree years perfectly, I really enjoyed the memories.
Well done again,
and thanks for letting us share in your talent.

Great song - brings back those young days in the highest trees. The "fly off a cliff" and "cowboy dream" lines make me think of Butch & Sundance 😃

Wow. This has to have been done in one take, and I’m impressed - you’re very talented. Your vocals are very expressive, as is the accompaniment. Really well-written and performed! Kudos!0
