The third in a pentalogy of tracks looking at the diversity of the CW genre. In this case there are two links to the same song, one an excellent rendition by our moderator and resident rocker, Chris Price and another Ai generated. The purpose of the pairing is to illustrate that the same lyrics can be more readily represented in multiple styles within the CW genre than most other genres!

[verse 1]
A Bourbon Street bar, on a wet afternoon.
People calling, rain falling, water pooling in the road.
Up on the balcony, I'm watching, what's left of the day.
Drown Springsteen's voice laments, the passing of old Tom Joad.
[verse 2]
The smell of Cajun chicken, wafts across the boards
A smooth laid back voice, asked "Is this seat free".
We shared our life stories, going backwards and forwards
Lights went out, we went to bed, clock showed just past three.
[chorus]
I could never say no, to that laid back voice
She got whatever she wanted, Rita was always the boss
From New Orleans to Santa Fe, I didn't have a choice
I've got time to learn new languages now, au revoir to adios
[verse 3]
Rita and I challenged substance abuse, for a month without a care
Rising at the break of dusk, tequila with a side of toast
Partying till the cleaners came, pills gave us energy spare
Nearly busted, we paid the bill, and headed for the coast
[chorus]
I could never say no, to that laid back voice
She got whatever she wanted, Rita was always the boss
From New Orleans to Santa Fe, I didn't have a choice
I've got time to learn new languages now, au revoir to adios
[verse 4]
Off to San Diego, stopped in Santa Fe, Rita liked the name
She knew a little Spanish, and she used it every day
Got friendly with the locals, they could play the game
The Sheriff marked our card, we got busted by the D.E.A.
[bridge]
Rita got sent North, I got jailed in New Mexico
I started learning Spanish since I had no where to go
[chorus]
I could never say no, to that laid back voice
She got whatever she wanted, Rita was always the boss
From New Orleans to Santa Fe, I didn't have a choice
I've got time to learn new languages now, au revoir to adios
[outro]
now it's "Si, Si" and "au revoir to adios"
maybe just "au revoir to adios"

Yes, the same story and two very different portraitists!
I really like both, yours has a very natural development, as the song asks for, maintaining tension and releasing it, the effect of the voice gives it life and emotions and the arrangement that surrounds it is stoic, solid and sober, the other painting is a timeless color that maintains its essence, dynamic, with a simple arrangement, it doesn't need anything else,
I loved the experience.
Very good lyrics, I like it. @sidshovel @ChrisPrice
