On A Blue Highway

Think it's time for a road trip
https://youtu.be/8wVPDloFuXc?si=vYJ319KTLaLUriNa
From a pink and purple dawn
Miles away what I was thinking on
That straight lines lead to compromise
crooked roads are what I need to try
To see what I can find in these
atmospheric conditions
Out on a blue highway Heaven whispers
Too much time on a rocky track
Yeah I want to be guilty of that
Turned around lost and astray
Hope I’ll always be that way
Running on wet rocks
in my traveling slippers
Out on a blue highway Heaven whispers
You’ll find roads
Way off of the Interstate
Your heart knows
To take a right and recreate
A life that you once sold
From east to west my feet will feast
On ground that I have never seen
From sea to sea and then believe
The endlessness that lies in between
A simple life I seek
The way ahead delivers
Out on a blue highway Heaven whispers
Heaven whispers x 3
Out on a blue highway—hold 6 count

You can really make that guitar dance, it's magical!
Beautiful vocals, breathtaking.
Reminds me so much of Crosby Stills and Nash.
Could listen to that for hours, what a talent.

Yeah that's nice. Gotta put you in a good mood listening to this.
"Out on a blue highway Heaven whispers" lovely line
Makes me want to jump on a bike and hit the road.

I do like this one! Very meaningful and a strong feeling connected.
One little thing…possibly just me…but you play with colours here and you started right away with pink and purple, I’d have come up with a little colour in the first lines of it, in contrast to the blue highway. But yeah that’s possible just me.
Nevertheless it’s a very good one!

Interesting comment RK. The genesis of the song was a sunrise. My bedroom faces east and one morning there was gorgeous pink and purple sunrise...the song just wrote itself from there. Originally I called it Heaven Whispers, but like Blue Highway better. I love being out on the road...heading there right now.

Yep, I think the images in the video actually match up perfectly with what I would’ve envisioned even without seeing it. It’s definitely got that wide open, driving out in the desert feel. That comes from the lyrics, but also from your voice and the guitar playing. Really sets the mood 🙂 It’s pretty cool that it was basically just inspired from a sunrise too. Nature can be an amazing source of inspiration for sure.0

This was really well done man. Loved the lyrical magic about the road you infused using colors. It set it off and your voice made it more desirable to be on the road. Again you have a great style on the guitar which is the heartbeat of this song. Loved it and enjoy the road trip.
