Song about a Tory council being told they have to accept refugees

[intro]

[verse 1]

Never saw nobody, everyone crossed the road,

you thought that, only your opinions mattered.

The Plebs were there to hear your pearls of wisdom

why then when you spoke, did everybody scatter.

[verse 2]

Never seen them in the club, at least the ones that count,

There different from us, one's a least two shades darker,

Have to polish the black balls, may be needin' them soon,

got it on good authority, they're missin' a Gene marker.

[chorus]

No one's gonna miss you, when you've gone,

your mother wont bother, wavin' you goodbye,

Threaten to leave, though they bought the ticket,

wonder why nobody cares, if you live or die.

[verse 3]

What are we going to do, property prices will go down,

I think we should build new houses, other side of the track.

God forbid, they get it in their minds, to come an' move in here

give them a hard time, they'll think twice before comin' back.

[chorus]

No one's gonna miss you, when you've gone,

your mother wont bother, wavin' you goodbye,

Threaten to leave, though they bought the ticket,

wonder why nobody cares, if you live or die.

[verse 4]

They're askin' for a seat on the council, whatever next,

Send their sprogs to Cambridge or even worse to Eton.

They're not the same as us, an they never will,

What was it you said, where do they want a seat on?

[bridge]

I'm sorry, but the mere idea is drivin me to distraction,

Everything we built, is suddenly fallin' to the ground.

I know, what the law says, but let's find a way around,

What if we changed the rules, an' hit them with eviction.

[Final Chorus]

No one's gonna miss you, when you've gone,

your mother wont bother, wavin' you goodbye,

Threaten to leave, though they bought the ticket,

wonder why nobody cares, if you live or die.

[outro]

The boss isn't playin' ball, he's refusin' to move the goals,

we may have no other choice, eyes staring up at the ceiling.

What a time to find some principles, a time to grow a pear,

Who gives a bloody damn, if Elvis's left the building.

Hi Sid, these are some powerful lyrics with a universal theme, though I’m sure for UK listeners, it would hit even harder. There are some awkward phrasings here and there which I would just put down to the AI, but overall, it did a decent job. I have to admit, it was kind of funny when the vaguely American sounding voice suddenly made the very British “idear” pronunciation out of nowhere! As ever, I can just imagine how much went into crafting the prompt for this, and I really liked how you made it from the council’s perspective when most would make it from the POV of the refugees. Often, biting satire can work better in these kinds of situations.
  • Wow!!!

Beautiful, emotional lyrics. I was very impressed by your song. I love the effect on the voice and the sound that surrounds it. Beautiful arrangement, elegant and very effective, supporting the parts that stand out. @sidshovel
