[verse 1]
I remember you on that hot day,
on the shores of Lake Como.
Danced barefoot in the water,
every detail, things I can't let go.
[verse 2]
I use your diary to remind me,
of every day I spent with you.
The entry where you felt a bump,
few pages turned it into a lump.
[chorus]
Sunrise sheds, light on my mind,
life's not, always what it seems.
Memories are so hard to find,
only see, my baby in my dreams.
[verse 3]
Light began to fade from your eyes,
you worried, me stayin' behind alone.
When you love someone that much,
it hurts, to leave them on their own.
[chorus]
Sunrise sheds, light on my mind,
life's not, always what it seems.
Memories are so hard to find,
only see, my baby in my dreams.
[bridge]
I look forward to going to bed,
flashbacks and what it all means.
Solace, eases the pain in my head,
when I see, my baby in my dreams.
[chorus]
Sunrise sheds, light on my mind,
life's not, always what it seems.
Memories are so hard to find,
only see, my baby in my dreams.
[outro]
only see, my baby in my dreams.
see, my baby in my dreams.
my baby in my dreams.
baby in my dreams.
[End to Fade]

Lovely lyrics Sid. They read like they're about something really sad and personal, though I could be interpreting them wrong. The Ai sounds good. The giveaway for me being being when the chorus kicks in..it has that kind of autotune vocal effect that everyone uses these days.
The Ai arrangement sounds like something very familiar though I can't put my finger on what it is. Of course, that's what the record companies would like to know. What did they use to train it?
Nice song.π

Thanks Chris,
Yes you're right, cancer/dies/left on his own/now only sees her in his dreams.
That pretty much covers it, don't know why I bothered writing the rest!!!!
By the way Chris, what is autotune, you're the second person to ask and I don't even know what it is!

P.S. Re your comment on sounds like:
After using Ai for a few months now my top soundalikes are:
Springsteen, Cohen, Dylan, Steve Earle, Rod Stewart, Kris Kristofferson, Townes van Zandt, lead singer from Passenger, Lewis Cappaldi, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Lucinda Williams, Iris DeMent

Autotune? Originally used for pitch correcting vocals - as the name suggests. But it's morphed into an effect to get that kind of robotic thing that a lot of modern singers/producers like to use. That's my take on it. Maybe one of our younger members can explain it in more detail.
I like your Ai list. I'd say that's about right Sid. The worrying thing is that I like most of the artists on this list! They probably trained me too!!π

Why would anyone want to sound like a robot by design, having just said that remember 2025, was it by the Archies? or 'video killed the radio star'. I suddenly had this vision of Linda Ronstadt fiddlin' around with the Chris Price aversion C3Pi0 exhaust pipe while humming, 'Long Long Time'.

π In my capacity as moderator, Iβm going to give myself a serious rebuke for even thinking of the response I had in mind! Letβs just say I rather liked Linda Ronstadt !! Back to the music methinks...

It's a nice write Sid. Strong storyline.
I particularly liked "I use your diary to remind me" something very real about that. He didn't have his own diary, but he values the entries in hers.
I'm less keen on the bump/lump lines because of the sound of it, just a little harder on the ears than other words, but clearly plays a vital role in the meaning of the song.
Re autotune, Cher's Believe is the classic example for that!

Thanks RDM, I like that song by Cher, I always thought of it as an echo sound, thanks for enlightening me.

Hi @sidshovel
The lyrics are very poignant. I'd be inclined to say the music is maybe a little too upbeat for theme possibly? Maybe I'm just not used to hearing sad lyrics with contemporary-sounding pop music? Anyway, that's my only 'critical' thought. Otherwise I like the lyrics a lot and found the music enjoyable.
All the best,
