Evershifting Winds

Here's our latest song. Would appreciate thoughts/feedback on it. Started out as an instrumental that I couldn't figure out what to do with. Singer heard it and sent me the vocal track a few months later with some added musical touches and here we are.
I've been away for a while so looking forward to hearing all the new stuff posted. Hope everyone's been doing well!
As always, all feedback greatly appreciated (and soon to be reciprocated) :) JRH

Very cool and mellow track @jrandolph. The vocals and atmosphere are somewhat reminiscent of songs by Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin, and similar artists from the early 70s. Well done! I enjoyed listening! I also subscribed to your YouTube channel. I look forward to hearing new tracks from you soon.
Cheers,
Joseph

Mellow is the right word. Very easy to relax into.
As a song, I think it probably needs a little more variation, or some melodic development to give the singer somewhere to go. It's pretty much on repeat at the moment. It's a beautiful instrumental, but it isn't really shaped as a song.
The vocal could probably be a little higher in the mix to clearly hear the words, but I suspect this was given to you as is.
Love the instrumentation!

I agree with the comments already made. Especially that the vocals should be louder. I can't hear them clearly enough. Would be a good idea to post the lyrics here. Otherwise a very nice piece of music. Good instrumentation.

The vocals and atmosphere of the song also reminds me of Jim Croce, particularly the song "Time in a Bottle". I wanted to mention that yesterday, but I couldn't remember the artist's name. I drew a total blank! 🤣😃

Thanks! I'll pass this along to the singer as well. Thanks for listening and subscribing. I'll be checking everyone's newest songs out this weekend.

thank you! it literally does repeat. i had looped the original recording i made with the acoustic just so i could listen to it longer to see if i heard more ideas. i sent that loop to him and he recorded his vocals.
on y'all's advice i pulled the release to bring his vocals up. I also shortened the delay to make him a little clearer.
the remix is now live so thanks!!!
