You Ain't Nothin' To Her

(Inspired by Linda Ronstadt)
(Bongos, Echoing guitar)

Verse 1:
You say that you want her
Back in her life
You say you're always lonely
And cryin' every night
Now you know
How she used to feel

She finally had enough
And left without a fight
And now she's with someone
Who always treats her right
Now you know
How heartbreak feels

Chorus:
(Add live drums, pedal steel and crisp Rock guitars)
No way
She'll never go back to you
That's what happens
When you try to tell her what to do
Now you're alone
Take it as a lesson learned
Man, let me tell you
You ain't nothin' to her

Verse 2:
She's not cryin'
She's laughin' all the time
She's not lonely
Someone's holdin' her tight
She found peace
And it's with me

Chorus:

(Guitar solo with pedal steel and bongos)
Now you're alone
Take it as a lesson learned
Man, let me tell you
You ain't nothin' to her

(Gospel vocals)
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Nothin' to her (Repeat)

Now you're alone
Take it as a lesson learned
Man, let me tell you
You ain't nothin' to her

(music fades)

  • This is great. Really easy to imagine in the style you suggested.

My favorite lines are in v1:

    Now you know

    How she used to feel

    that hits hard!

Not sure about "And it's with me" though. For me that changes the tone and takes the focus away from her.

    But it's a strong lyric.

  • @JT424 It's good to see you back in action after your last album. Is this material for a new album? It's cool that you mentioned the song was inspired by Linda Ronstadt. She has a lot of good songs. Nice work!
