    Well, that was brilliant!

I played the work tape first and thought that was great, it sounded so much like a cross between Steve Earle and a Tom Waits ballad, poetic, raw and powerful. Your vocal style, the emotion and presentation were outstanding. The demo was stylish, polished and professional, as good as anything out of Nashville. I admit I played the work tape more, the raw emotion carried the lyrics, it was brilliant.

Think I'll go back and take another listen!

  • Very polished song. Classic modern country.

Great to see the work tape then the finished demo too, thanks for sharing that!

  • Radio ready to be a chart topper!

That's when I was hot and heavy on pitching songs , its a complicated business . Last major publisher told me in Nashville , You're not getting a song cut by a major artist being unknown . Here's the logic I think , they're having a hard enough time getting songs cut by there staff writers to make a buck. She had a amusing story , One staff writer was on vacation for a month , I guess he made enough money on cuts to take off for awhile , she said I wish I could do that , I work all the time . I guess if you wrote "I hope you dance" , they'd have to cut it , even then I have my doubts .

    thanks guys

  • Indeed, great to hear the song in it's raw form and then a produced version. As you know I really like your music and this is no exception. As RDM says - 'Classic modern country.' I can't argue with that. Brilliant.😀

Plaintive and willingly so. Your vocal is perfect for this kind of folk ballad.

I have about 10 songs where tracks are done I could redo with my vocal , Since all I do now is promote myself , That would save money on writing more songs for awhile , No sense in wasting decent songs , cuz Nashville won't cut them for various reasons . I think its still a wise thing to do is listen to 2024 radio and talk with a Nash publishers once in awhile. Just to be kinda hip what's going on in the industry , they change trends like yesterdays news paper .

    Thanks RC and Chris
