The world definitely feels like a scary place at the moment, with wars in Palestine and Ukraine, and the threat of wars in Taiwan, and the south China sea, fighting in Yemen, Sudan and many more. And in troubled times people turn to their religion for comfort, so your lyric is both personal and universal.
I think you're painting an effective picture here of stress and anxiety on a personal level from violence and destruction on a global level.

I am a big fan of songs relating to social commentary and this is an excellent example, well done!
One comment relating to the first two verses. I'm a bit lost about why and what the person sees in the mirror.
