She needs to feel loved again

She needs to feel loved again
verse
She’s forty and the men have ceased to flirt.
she misses those unwelcome stares.
It takes longer to get ready for work.
She has started to dye her hair.
pre chorus
She feels old and unattractive;
bitter at what times done.
Her profile picture on facebook
still looks pretty and young.
chorus
She misses being kissed and desired.
She needs to feel loved again.
She misses being told she’s pretty.
She needs to feel loved again.
bridge
She sometimes feels why even try.
She sometimes cries at night.
He wants to tell her how he feels.
He needs her in his life.
verse
She doesn’t know she has an admirer.
He’s hesitant to tell her so.
He feels like she wouldn’t look twice at him.
But he hands her a long stem rose.
pre chorus
He tells her that she’s beautiful.
kisses her hand and smiles.
Her heartbeat quickens, she blushes.
It’s been such a long while.
chorus
She misses being kissed and desired.
She needs to feel loved again.
She misses being told she’s pretty.
She needs to feel loved again.

Another excellent song! This will resonate with so many readers out there.

One of those issues that gets brushed under the carpet by so many.

    Handled with compassion and sincerity

  • Excellent set of lyrics @carroll . The sentiments you expressed remind me of a song I wrote titled There's a Sadness About Her.

My favorite lines are in the chorus:

She misses being kissed and desired

She needs to feel loved again

She misses being told she’s pretty

She needs to feel loved again

    Nice work!

    Cheers,

    Joseph

  • thanks guys
  • You might want to move the bridge later in the song after you have introduced the "admirer". It's not a big issue, but the "he" in the bridge makes more sense after reading that part.
