Another life
verse
I’ve been walking in my father’s shoes.
but they’re not the right size.
I’ve never felt quite comfortable.
trying to live his life.
Pre chorus
I’m a square peg in a round hole.
I’m nothing like my old man.
But I can’t break free of his hold.
chorus
I have wealth, power and prestige.
but I dream of another life.
oo I dream of another life.
oo I dream of another life.
verse
I’ve been sleeping in my father’s bed.
but it feels much too hard.
I awaken feeling exhausted.
feeling weary of heart.
Pre chorus
I’m a square peg in a round hole.
I’m nothing like my old man.
But I can’t break free of his hold.
chorus
I have wealth, power and prestige.
but I dream of another life.
ooo
I dream of another life.
ooo I dream of another life.
verse
I’ve grown weary of my father’s life.
The way he judges me.
I doubt he’ll ever be satisfied.
with the life that I lead.
pre chorus
I’m a square peg in a round hole.
I’m nothing like my old man.
But I can’t break free of his hold.
chorus
I have wealth,power and prestige.
but I dream of another life.
ooo I dream of another life
Ooo I dream of another life.
Bridge
I’m bound by family tradition.
to live up to his name.
Continue his esteemed profession.
but I long for a change.

I like this, but as I was reading it, I was asking myself "well what's stopping you?". I think the answer to that is in the bridge, and it might be worthwhile bringing that forward a bit earlier in the song for this one.
I like the start, and walking in his father's shoes - that's a lovely metaphor to set things up, saying they're uncomfortable and the wrong size.
I do find it a bit hard to sympathize with the character at the moment. It would be easier if he broke free of his father's grip and gave up the wealth, power and prestige - but that's not what the song is about!
You don't mention either the father's profession nor the son's dream life explicitly, and I suspect quite deliberately. And I don't see that as a problem, just an option at your disposal.
