Fall from Grace

Hello all - this is a song I wrote and recorded in 2001. Thought I’d post it while I’m finishing up a current song I’m working on.

Go on and tell me…….I’ve been so senseless
But I can’t seem to get you out of my mind...........
Such sweet fruit in a garden of thorns
How to resist I’ll never learn
My heart is pounding inside of my head
Feelings that I have for you don’t make any sense
I try to forget you - I try in vain
This obsession that I have has got me in chains
I remain burning in the afterglow
This temptation that I have won’t let me go
With one look you became my fall from grace
Just like Lorelei and the ship at sea
Pull me in closer and what do I see?
Devastation straight ahead, I crash to the shore
Like a stupid fool I come back for more
A moment of pleasure has turned to pain
Something you did I won’t be the same
Never knew this sweet love could feel so bad
Seems to have taken everything that I have
With one look you became my fall from grace
I try to forget you -- I try in vain
This obsession that I have has got me in chains
I remain burning in the afterglow
This temptation that I have won’t let me go
With one look you became my fall from grace

"With one look you became my fall from grace" that's a cool line, and I like the way you sing it.
There's a couple of lines that feel a little crowded to me like:
"This obsession that I have has got me in chains" you could drop the "that I have", but that's a stylistic choice, they both work.
But overall it's a cool song.

I love the punk vibe. The tag line adds the right amount of space when I needed. This is really cool.
When I was listening I hoped you would throw some shredding guitar in there....
Yeah, I felt refreshed by that. I feel like music is sometimes so predictable form wise and that one kept me guessing somewhat.
Cool project. Cheers!

Hey guys...thanks for listening! I appreciate the comments 😊 @robcrozier - Yeah, got some shredding in there. That's my ex-bandmate from years ago.

Wow! This takes me back to another time in a very positive way. I can imagine this going down a storm live. If you don't mind me saying, the instruments are a bit muddy in places..just a balance thing I reckon, and I'd definitely like to hear the kit a bit more upfront. but, hey, I'm just nit picking so don't take too much notice! I love the vibe. Quite an adventurous arrangement. I enjoyed it.😀

@ChrisPrice --glad you enjoyed it! As far as the mix, it's set in stone at this point....it was done by my ex-bandmate who recorded and mixed the tracks years ago.....I appreciate the feedback though, it's always welcome. 😀
