She’s missing but she ain’t missing him
She’s missing but she ain’t missing him
verse
I saw the bruises on her arm and her busted lip.
how she cowered when he was around.
I saw the tears in her eyes
how she feared for her life.
The way he enjoyed putting her down.
chorus
She's on a greyhound to another town.
He’ll never see her again.
She’s gone missing, missing, missing
but she ain’t missing him.
verse
I saw the sorrow in her eyes, that look of despair.
how she felt trapped inside of a cage.
I knew she’d kill him if he didn’t kill her.
So I gave her the means to escape.
chorus
She’s on a greyhound bus to another town.
He’ll never see her again.
She’s gone missing. missing, missing;
but she ain’t missing him.
bridge
Gave her a ride to the station.
Gave her a couple grand.
enough to start her life over.
Find herself a kind man.
tag
She's gone, missing, missing, missing
but she ain’t missing him.

I like these lyrics. They tell a story, albeit a rather sad and disturbing one. The words all work well and, in the right hands, this could be turned into a really strong and emotive song. I'll be interested to see where this goes.

This song has solid bones. Definitel a heavy, yet, unfortunately, relevant topic. I would also love to hear some music with it. Nice work!

@carroll Just a quick heads up. I know you're new here, but do please check out the forum rules. One song/lyric per day and please remember to review at least 2 songs per post. Just doing my bit as moderator. I hope you don't mind. Please do keep posting your words here...they look good to me. This is a great place to hang out and you'll benefit if you check out what everyone else is doing.😀

Very somber lyrics that portray the story well @carroll. I'm thinking this is country genre, right? Nice work.
The most interesting lines to me are:
I saw the sorrow in her eyes, that look of despair.
how she felt trapped inside of a cage.
I knew she’d kill him if he didn’t kill her.
So I gave her the means to escape.
Cheers,
Joseph

These are my fav lines:
She’s gone missing. missing, missing;
but she ain’t missing him.
I can just hear those being sung!
This one feels just a bit out: "Find herself a kind man." maybe "Find a different kind of man." I think it's just the syllable count. But of course best to hear it to music first.
Good write!
