blind date romeo

Lyrics are symphonies without the calluses
I read an article about speed dating the other day and It got me thinking of how Technology has infiltrated itself into our most basic form of relationship, romance. This is just something that came from that.
verse 1
Sitting alone at a bar table, one eye on the door
Watching every woman, did she have an umbrella
There wasn't going to be many, outside it was sunny and 34
Pick something better next time, I told myself to tell her
verse 2
I stirred my beer with a swizzle stick, the froth had long since gone
A metaphor of my own life, flat and lifeless to the touch
The clock on the wall bore witness, down and so forlorn
The fingers moved to a beat, a measure, that never mattered much
chorus
I wait with an expectation, that this will be the one
A catalogue of brief encounters, a portfolio of no shows
This time it will be different, this time, this time, I know
So many wasted assignations, for a blind date romeo
bridge
I closed the game app on my phone, ironic, my lowest score
Deleted her bio, finished my drink, and stopped looking at the door
verse 3
I shuffled to the bar, and threw the rose down on the floor
A pint and two whiskey chasers, a lot of catching up to do
No point in staying sober, I'd been down this road before
Looked at the picture of my ex, thought of what she'd put me through
chorus
I wait with an expectation, that this will be the one
A catalogue of brief encounters, a portfolio of no shows
This time it will be different, this time, this time, I know
So many wasted assignations, for a blind date romeo

I like the wry humour of it.
It doesn't feel quite as free flowing as some of your others. I think some of the vocab, like assignations and portfolios are just hard to fit into cadences.
I think "blind date romeo" is a wonderful hook and title though!
For the bridge I wonder if the app referenced should be the dating app , rather than a game? Maybe there's some "swipe left" type reference that could be used there?
Worth pursuing!

Thank you Owen,
Bang on with the vocab! Sometimes you should listen to those little voices in your ear!
The bridge is an excellent idea which will be pursued forthwith.
This forum is full of really good advice, thanks all!
