There's lot of songs out there based around G D & C ! I think I've written one or two myself, but I'm not in the same league as John Mellencamp! I like your version here - it suits your voice. I could imagine this going down really well live.😀

Hey @Autopart101 . . . really enjoyed this ! Haven't heard this tune in a long while, and never realized how many times Mellencamp repeats the words "small town", it's in every verse and chorus, but who am I to judge ?, just a great old classic hit song by now, and your version with just voice and guitar works very well, super cool in fact.

Mellencamps hometown is 1 1/2 hour drive from mine. He's one of the great American song writers. I did this after the verison I saw him play on late night TV. Just him and a guitar.0
