The Misunderstood

They’re paper tigers
Pocket full of regrets
Black doubt fill their souls
From the ghosts I suppose
Its hard to share them smiles
When you've wasted miles
Ch
They take midnight walks
When no ones around
Hate the sun waking up this sleepy town
Hurting themselves is easy
Living is hard
Such is lives of
Loners, Outcasts,
And the Misunderstood
v2
My lies Freudian slips
Sometimes cross my lips
Hard knocks poetic role
Like Shakespeare's heart of gold
One more cigarette to burn
As this song twists and turns
ch
I take midnight walks
When no ones around
Hate the sun waking up this sleepy town
Hurting myself is easy
Living is hard
Such is lives of
Loners, Outcasts,
And the Misunderstood
bridge
Spinning dancers in our minds
When angels fall like stars in the sky
ch
Just take midnight walks
When no ones around
Don't hate the sun waking up this sleepy town
Hurting ourselves is easy
Living is hard
Cuz such is lives of
Loners, Outcasts,
And the Misunderstood
Yeah Misunderstood
Yeah the Misunderstood
Misunderstood

I like this track. More acoustic driven than I've heard from you. The orchestration is fabulous too. The vocal harmonies work a treat. A classy song. Much enjoyed here😀

Yeah I'm going to do more acoustic tracks for awhile , Get off the full production trail
Like Tommy Prine , John Prines son

Good stuff
thanks Chris

I look forward to hearing more of your acoustic material. If anyone can do it, you can! 😀

See how Tommy Prine pans harmony to left on Ships in the harbour ?
So Bz Lewis my producer will do that when I get girl harmony parts back for Misunderstood
Ha Ha , Well we can get carried away with productions sometimes Chris , So do acoustic ones for awhile

It's a good one. I love the mood.
Those lyrics in v1 got my attention straight away, and the whole thing is meaningful, no wasted words.
I like the harmony in the chorus, nice separation from the verses.
Good track.

wow man! really good song. great lyrics. your vocal melodies always leave me sort of hanging on edge if that makes sense. Like my brain is thinking it's going to resolve to a certain note and you'll leave it short or either go to another note I wasn't expecting. I ain't got no formal learnin' with music so I hope i'm making sense :)
Very nice work (as usual)

Hey Randolph
I have no formal training in music either
Its all by ear and feel
I dabble in theory, But i use notes whatever works for the song
my producer has degrees in music , Its always the same joke , nothing in music is cut a dry on what works or not
thanks for listening
I got a Hank Williams Heart
and a James Taylor soul
Walking down this country road
A million songs in this guitar
Singing it out in this bar
I live for swinging doors
I got a Hank Williams Heart
and a James Taylor soul

It took some work lining up two guitarists . perfectly to match
BGV's will be replaced by 31 stems coral girl harmony to bounce off my ruff voice

Wow - This is a great lyric. Really insightful and thoughtful stuff -
I also like your performance and delivery - you skillfully emphasize key words and concepts, I get a Tom Waits vibe from your delivery that I really think is effective
I also like the instrumentation / strings
What software do you record with?

Hi my first review, very distinctive voice - that I feel really fits the lyrics of the song. I think the chorus catches the mood. I think it could be a slow burner, the more you listen it grows on you. I don't know if you do ratings, but I like to. Not really my thought of thing, that's the main reason that I haven't rated it higher 7/10- but voice, lyrics and subject come together really well.

@ElvisNash . . . another song of greatness from you. The acoustic guitars sound excellent and are very well recorded, silky smooth, a sound I never seem to be able to achieve . . . maybe I need a better guitar, your guitar recording sounds lush and full.
Interesting songwriting trick how you changed the point of view for the 3 choruses:
1) They take midnight walks . . . 2) I take midnight walks . . . 3) Just take midnight walks . . .
Great lyrics, and a committed vocal delivery, always a treat to hear you . . . really enjoyed this one !
