See the dude in the cowboy hat belly up at the bar?

He just lost some pretty little thing who dropped him for a car.

So, there he sits, taking hits, crying in his beer,

drinking rounds to drown the hounds he cannot bear to hear.

  That’s how it goes.

There’s just no use in crying.

You can lay the blame; but, in your heart, you’d know you’re lying.

  That’s how it goes.

You may sink, or you might swim, but if you can’t get wet,

  best not jump in

Take the old man in the souped-up Vet with that darling by his side,

You gotta wonder who’s the fool, taking who for a ride.

These are the days, anyways, sign me up for some

pretty words from pretty birds, with lovely silver tongues

 well….

  That’s how it goes.

There’s just no use in crying.

You can play the game; but, in your heart, you’d know you’re lying.

  That’s how it goes.

You may sink or you might swim, but if you can't get wet,

  best not jump in

Now, there's a guy who gets it right, you won't see him fall apart.

He’s the kind that will keep his head with matters of the heart.

He keeps it cool. He’s no fool. He knows, with romance,

It’s better to love and lose, than to never give love a chance.

  That’s how it goes.

There’s just no use in crying.

You can play the game, no extra point for trying.

  That’s how it goes.

You may sink, or you might swim, but if you don’t get wet,

  you’ll never win.

  • I liked the original you posted of the song last month, but bringing in Lee and the CCB for the facelift as you called it made it even better! Nice work by both of you and a good collaboration of talent! Hopefully Lee and the CCB make a return here soon.

  • Thanks, icy....................Lee is awesome.

Thanks for stopping by.....I really appreciate it.

It sounds great, powerful, the song was already great when you shared it in its first version and now, without losing the color that you give it, it has a great special spectrum!! The arrangement, the power and the voices, guitars and other components of the arrangement appear at the right moment!!! good job guys @IronKnee @CorkingCrackBand

  • Thanks, M.........I appreciate it!

  • Aww, this is one hell of a collaboration. A great song anyway, but what an arrangement!! I'd buy the album!!😀

  • I would never ask for money with the work I do, unless I was actually working in a studio to record to make money. My recordings are primitive.

Lee, on the other hand, is a master.....just as you are, Chris.

Thanks for stopping by.... it's always appreciated.

  • Sounds waaayy cool guys ! The electric guitars are very well done, and really add an interesting edge to the song, which totally works with the lyric content. I've heard the folk version and the rock version . . . now that's a well written song !

My first impression was the drum intro really set a strong tone of "now this will be good", and of course it was. Good sounding kit mix, whatever you used. Nice production touches, a few change ups, and echoes of the lead vocal . . . congrats for not going over the top production wise, just kept to what the song needed, and supports those awesome vocals. Goin' in for another listen or two . . .

  • Thanks, popitup............I really appreciate the listen and generous comment.

Lee is great and made the song "pop".

    Thanks, again.............;-)

  • Hi,

It's lovely to see my praises being sung 😁 but I'll just state the obvious that 9/10's of this song is in the song writing and vocals. I was very pleased to help out and it was a pleasure working with/helping out Thomas who deserves so much credit for this catchy number. 👍️

    All the best,

    CCB
