The Stranger
ife keeps changing us even if we don't realize it, and one of the causes of that change is memory. Memory is a skilled tailor, a deft hand that dresses our memories as it pleases, cutting, pasting, erasing, adjusting... And all of that changes us; in reality, we are its white lies... But this song isn't about lies, it's about forgetting and about one single thing that survived... I hope you enjoy it; there's a lot of work in this.Stay well

Even without forgetting
I am forgetting you
there's no hand to tie your essence
to the tree where my time lives
and despite my desire
you only exist in my dreams
I try to bring back to my ears
your voice and all its nuances
but it has dissolved in limbo,
only one word has been saved
from the abyss of oblivion
nena nena nena
baby baby baby
Even without forgetting,
I am forgetting you
and when I look at your photos,
you seem like someone stranger
How brief our life is,
how short that journey together,
never enough to discover each other
nena nena nena
baby baby baby

There are no truer words - How brief our life is / how short that journey together / never enough to discover each other

I had an aunt and an uncle who suffered from dementia so I can relate to the song, the words and the emotions.
Memories are indeed no more than leaves in the wind tossed about within our mind.
A beautiful song Mora, handled with sensitivity and care.
Thank you,
Sid

I love your lyric Mora! it's beautiful and tragic and wistful.
And I really like the music too, but I don't feel that they go together well. It's too happy, too relaxed and chill. As well as being the wrong mood, the music here is at least an equal partner in terms of the listeners attention. But it needs to be subservient. The lyric, and therefore the vocal, needs to be center stage with the music just supporting it. The listener needs to hang on every word.
I feel like you need to write a vocal melody first, in isolation, then create an instrumental around it. This one feels like Marcus wrote a lovely piece of music, you wrote this wonderful lyric then you brought the two things together afterwards.
