Good job on this Kayla! This feels like a song. It's got emotion and a theme.
And it's got enough structure that I can imagine it set to music too.
The strongest part (to me) is the verse that goes:
Of those around
I listen loud...
I really like how you rhyme 6 out of the 7 lines - repetition with variation is something our ears and brain love. If you can, I'd try to do something similar later in the song too.
If you wanted to, you could try for a short refrain to repeat throughout, like a mini-chorus.
God's word is my sword
His love is my shield
or something like that.
This may be the best song I've seen from you.
