[instrumental intro]

[verse 1]

I haven’t a clue

What I did to attract the likes of you

I thought I had it made

My plans were all neatly laid

[verse 2]

I was part of the crowd

Until you put me upon a cloud

Why was it me, please tell me do

For I haven’t a clue

[bridge]

Yesterday night

I laid awake by candlelight

Racking my brain

Only hearing this refrain

[verse 3]

I can’t figure it out

Though you say I shouldn’t doubt

Why was it me, please tell me do

For I haven’t a clue

[instrumental]

[bridge]

Yesterday night

I laid awake by candlelight

Racking my brain

Only hearing this refrain

[verse 3]

I can’t figure it out

Though you say I shouldn’t doubt

Why was it me, please tell me do

For I haven’t a clue

[coda]

Baby, no, I haven’t a clue

I might be a country boy, but I sure did like that.

  • How could you listen to that without your toes tapping?

What a lovely song to sit down and chill out to.

Put a smile on my face!
