Well, I take Billy Joels advice, I try hard not to suck...
I've written plenty of crap along the way, and still do. Writing even one great song may never happen.
I enjoy trying, I enjoy trying to improve, I enjoy working on craft.0 -
Well, good for you.

Fascinating that you sometimes do so many takes. I'm not patient enough to do that. If I don't have anything worthwhile after about 8 takes, I give up and move on. Being willing to give up on a song is hard for me, but I could never do many more takes than 8.

Even after you told me you weren't going to tell me what his point was, THEN told me what his point was, I still don't quite get what his point was.

@Hardtwistmusic . I guess in some ways it's chasing the uncatchable.
Yep, I have done as many as 100 takes for a full song.
Saying... Nah not that, nope that that, this one sucks, then ahhhh something I can work with. There's been some I never liked.
Most of my lyrics are already songs, basicly guess I'm looking for something in particular..even if it gives me carpal tunnel syndrome!0 -
That a "majority of them suck" is true. A majority of all the songs that don't reach an audience suck. The majority of all songs written has always "sucked." The point I'm trying to make is that I've listened to at least 100 hours of Suno songs, trying to understand the difference between the ones that suck, and the ones that don't. Then, I examined how the ones that 'don't suck' set up their songs with instructions, made notes on what they did, and then tried to duplicate what they had accomplished. There are (of course - as you say) a majority on Suno (as in the entire music universe) who lack either the talent or the commitment to write stuff that doesn't suck. But (as in the music universe as a whole) the few who 'don't suck' make it all worthwhile. There IS an element of luck with Suno. But for the few who are willing to invest in learning how it works, how to best use it, and how to ask others for help, it can be really worthwhile. BTW. . . some of what you have written is good. The more you learn, the better your average will become.

I don't do what I do for accolades or to be the top dog on the Suno platform. I just write songs I like. if they resonate, then great, if not then that's fine also. Your last comment cracks me up., as if your opinion holds any value to me. Trust me, I'm not losing any sleep over you not commenting on my songs 😉

You do appear to want to be top dog here though. In thought and in songs, least Sid thinks your Jim Morrison0

But I've commented on a lot of your songs and in a positive way. When I don't comment here, I comment on Suno. And, I'll keep commenting on the good ones. This has been a very interesting conversation.

That's impressive to me.
