Strangers In The Night

Hi guys !
I've released a new song today.
It's called "Strangers In The Night".
https://listen.haimshim.com/strangersinthenight
Lyrics (from my website haimshim.com):
Losing myself in hoes and some trouble
I don’t wanna lead my life to the bottom
Smoked a cigarette or two
Thinking about the way that I left you
I find myself in bars and some whiskey
I don’t wanna live my life while I’m tipsy
Smoked a cigarette or two
Thinking about the way that I left you
And I
I hate to say goodbye
But baby I can’t stay, I have to get away
But if you wanna try
Come with me don’t you cry
Then maybe for a change
We wouldn’t be strangers in the night
Losing myself in focus and tension
Spending all the money I saved for my pension
Smoked a cigarette or two
Thinking about the way that I left you
I find myself in love with a stranger
Man, I think I’m getting used to the danger
Smoked a cigarette or two
Thinking about the way that I left you
And I
I hate to say goodbye
But baby I can’t stay, I have to get away
But if you wanna try
Come with me don’t you cry
Then maybe for a change
We wouldn’t be strangers in the night
Losing myself in hoes and some trouble
I don’t wanna lead my life to the bottom
Smoked a cigarette or two
Thinking about the way that I left you

Sounds good just a steal from Frank Sinatra or whoever wrote his song
"Strangers in the Night" is a song composed by Bert Kaempfert with English lyrics by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder.

Lots of songs share common titles, so I wouldn't be too worried there.
Personally, I'd had have the drums & bass come in much earlier at "I find myself in bars"
Something about the instrumentation mix feels a little thin to my ear. You want to leave room for your wonderful voice, and the lyric is important in this song, but it feels like there is too much space there.
But the song itself seems right on point for a modern pop song.

You can't copywrite a title , It don't matter anyway with 40 trilion songs on Spoitify

Thanks for sharing. Like your other songs, well organized, good production and awesome singing. Choosing a well known title will always bring up comparisons so up to you but as EN mentioned, a song title cannot be copyrighted. I agree with Owen (and everyone should haha) with the song being a little too sparse and having the drums kick in earlier. Good one!

Hi Haim . . great pop song you've written here, enjoyed it very much (yes, there was a famous pop song from the 60's or 70's with the same name . . . maybe you weren't born yet, LOL) Really love your voice, super strong, as with your others that I've heard.
Owen previously alludes to the "thin" sound . . . that's mostly the guitar recording for my ears, because the lead vocal really fills it out nicely, but the acoustic guitar could be a fuller sound to help the recording part of this . . . but songwise you've got it totally going on here !
