lyrics SS : music/vocals Ai

[verse 1]

We used to be, the best of friends,

till she came, an' got inbetween.

Turned ya mind, inside out,

sickest bitch, I'd ever seen.

[verse 2]

Knew from the start, she's evil,

whisper here, confidence there,

Her coven, the water cooler,

any secrets, don't tell her.

[chorus]

Words, a curse she put on me,

things she knew, weren't true.

She played, inside my head,

don't let her, get close to you.

[verse 3]

Played one against the other,

sat back, an' watched the fight.

Till H.R., came in the frame,

she's gone, an' out of sight.

[chorus]

Words, a curse she put on me,

things she knew, weren't true.

She played, inside my head,

don't let her, get close to you.

[verse 4]

Pity those, caught in her web,

men an' girls, used her charms.

Not everyone fell, for her looks,

less gullible, she twisted arms.

[bridge]

Came to a head, she posted a pic,

said a Manager, sent it to her.

In defence, H.R. said no way,

they knew, that he was gay.

[final chorus]

Words, a curse she put on me,

things she knew, weren't true.

She played, inside my head,

don't let her, get close to you.

[outro]

To his credit, he called the police,

charged the witch, with blackmail.

A different cooler, for her coven,

Charlotte, got three years in jail.

  • @sidshovel - cool song. I'm guessing this is based on a true story, too lazy to google it :). the music fits perfectly.

Not a word of it Bill, came right out of my head, that's the scary part!

  • That's very talented to be able to craft a story like that. brilliant :)

  • Certainly the slippery slope of evil women strikes a chord

    Good job Sid

@ElvisNash, @bhengen, That's what happens when you're forced to watch too many chick soaps with your better half!

  • Charlotte's web is a lovely title, and of course benefits from (and contrasts with!) the children's book. I'd like to see a bit more of that in the chorus. You might pinch one of the lines from elsewhere and insert it:

Words, a curse she put on me,

    things she knew, weren't true.

Pity those, caught in her web,

don't let her, get close to you.

    Strong story line.

@RainyDayMan Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. The lyrics were developed around the phrase, " Oh, what a tangled web we weave" rather than the childrens story. But hey, why pass up a great hook! Deceit is the primary focus and not entrapment, hence, the line "She played, inside my head." Good line nevertheless.

Appreciate the suggestions as always, keep them coming.

"We used to be, the best of friends,
