The time I get off the island all 25 hits will be dated. Knowing my luck bills will keep coming even though I'm presumed dead . probably an all girl band for obvious reasons

  • That's a tough one Tammy! I might choose Cat Stevens, and his albums: Tea for the Tillerman, and Teaser and the Firecat, when he was at his best.

One of my favourite artists is Jimmy LaFavre, I'd take his greatest hits album, "Favorites, 1992-2001, beautiful songs.

If you haven't heard of him, check out his work.

  • I would pick tool. fear Inoculum. spend all of the time deciphering their songs :) and watching danny carey, the octopus play the drums :)

  • @ElvisNash- LOL. I would like to know who, though? :-)

@RainyDayMan @sidshovel @bhengen - You guys are giving me a homework assignment; I have never heard of any of these artists.

  • Amy Whinehouse , If I'm stuck on a Island its not with a guy

  • Homework? No! A voyage of discovery!! 😁

  • I've heard of Amy Whinehouse, but does she have enough hits to keep you occupied.

@RainyDayMan - IKR. voyage of discovery is correct.

I'm not thinking about hits when I think of Amy . It's going to be a long stay on the island. 2 tortured souls and palm trees.

That's a great question and tricky to answer. I have been around for a while so there is a lot to choose from.

I guess that Classical and Movie soundtracks are out. If they weren't I would have my complete set of Glazunov conducted by Jose Serebrier ( not the turgid way all russian composers play his work ). Or possibly "Crimson Tide" by Hans Zimmer ( and others ).

Music with lyrics though. Well , I would consider that Ric Ocasek is one of the cleverest songwriters/lyricists there. He has an ironic and clever way with words that keep you listening. It was very fortunate that he was matched by the musicians in "The Cars" - I always liked the jaunty keyboards especially. Which album ? That would be "Panorama" - It is well written, the pace is always right and it is a great way to spend an albums worth of your time.

My favourite Band was Kansas for many years but I was always in love with the musical landscapes they painted rather than the lyrics.
