Good Morning Train Wreck

https://hearthis.at/elvis-nash-xk/man-you-look-like-you-been-to-hell-lead-vox/

Man your looking like you've been to hell and back

Like a locomotive hit you and dragged you down a track

You can't remember what she said or what you did last night

I guess all the shots you had might've started some kind of fight

Ch

Good Morning train wreck

There ain't nothing clearer

Than the first look in the mirror

And you know the guy your seeing is a mess

Mess

It might be time for a reality check

Good morning train wreck

Wreck 4 times

V2

Go get yourself some coffee and try to clear your head

You better call her and apologize at least for what you did

Don't wait to hear about it from one her friends

Or tomorrow you'll end up talking to yourself again

Ch

Bridge

You'd think by now you'd stay out of trouble

Instead of waking up and seeing double

Double trouble

Ch

ha ha ha , its not as bad as this guy . I'll get some harmony and it will be done , I'm thinking snapping fingers on verses

  • I don't know if this was intentional because of what the song is about a "train wreck" but it began too rough for me.

I wanted a little easing into the song. Maybe play the guitar a little more in the beginning and then start verse 1.

I started it over to make sure I didn't miss the beginning, when it was in fact the start of the song. Otherwise, great guitar playing, lyrics, and I love listening to your songs. I believe you are a great musician.

  • I usually do a 15 second intro on guitar , Not on this one

    Thanks

  • oh okay, yes, that's what I was looking for. :-)

  • Well he's train wreck , So is this song lol

  • No, he's the train wreck not the song. :-)

  • I added some harmony , needs to be mixed better

My apologies for not commenting sooner Elvis, but I was waiting to see if anyone else picked up on something I'm about to mention.

I liked everything about the song , lyrics, the message, (been there many times), the presentation was apt for the content and the music itself.

I did, however, come away with one thing that stuck in my ear and wasn't good. That was the repeated use of the word "wreck" at the end of the chorus. To me, and I accept this is a highly personal note, it sounded like a dog barking. Since at the time of writing nobody else has mentioned it, I accept it is probably just my own earworm.

As such, I would either ignore what I say or consider changing to using "train wreck" just twice.

It did however, get me thinking about words that others don't like, rather than raise the question on your thread I'll do so in the General Discussion and give you first crack at replying.

    Good song,

    Sid

Barking ? Sounds like Wreck to me . The harmony is a bit hot , it'll be tuned down some . it felt right in the studio , there's to much music lag , So added the wrecks . My voice does sound like a dog that drank whiskey and smoked a pack of cigs anyway lol

    Thanks

  • I particularly liked these lines:

    There ain't nothing clearer

Than the first look in the mirror

I'm not a fan of the repeat on "wreck" at the end of the chorus either. Sounds a bit harsh. I think you might be better off mixing it up a little there.

But the song overall is sound.

I'll leave them , Songs a train wreck , it's meant to be harsh . This guy is a mess , that's the best part of the song , All the wrecks

  • No worries Elvis! You know what you want there.
