I listened to this and some other songs you have done. The sound, which is professionally done, is very similar to other contemporary female artists. I would would say to stand out you should use your talent and resources to create something different sounding. Something that does not sound like the rest. If you do I look forward to hearing it!

its very hard to sound different almost every style has been done or revived
this song was meant to be mainstream pop But i have taken your advise on board
i do these songs for fun & don't really have any commercial aspirations
i am always open to suggestions to try any new style that takes me out of my comfort zone

You're welcome. You can try to "think outside the box" and just do something you feel that's all yours. Don't worry if it doesn't sound like anything else, just do it and put it out there. That's what I did, my sound quality is not very good, but still I have had people from all over the world, mostly Europe, message me tell me how much they liked it and if I could send them the lyrics. I do not think this would have happened if my music sounded like everyone else.
I also had one person in the UK aske me to join a band. A movie maker in the UK asked me to be in one of their films.

Not my kind of music, but I have to say, it sounds good. This kind of music is all about the production rather than lyric (except for the hook) or melody, and you have done that really well in my opinion. There's a couple of spots, such as at 0:40, where it feels a little like two segments stitched together, something to do with a jump in the rhythm.
