I'm surely not the best of men; I stumble and I fall
Try as I may, I find myself at the foot of some brick wall
It's something I can't get over; in my nature, I guess
Or maybe it's something deeper, keeping me from doing my best
Alleluia... the sun began to shine
Alleluia... when your heart found mine
I'm a sinner, a tramp, and full of pride
But you pulled me over... over that wall to the other side
Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself
Alleluia, Alleluia, how you saved me from myself
Since then, I've walked that crooked line much straighter than before
But I have to say, the narrow path is a balancing act, for sure
Precariously, I teeter; some habits are hard to break
I know you've had cause to leave me if it weren't for Heaven's sake
Alleluia... oh, how the sun does shine
Alleluia... keeping your heart close to mine
Lost and wandering, but never on my own
How you steered me over that winding road I had always known
Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself
Alleluia, Alleluia, how you saved me from myself
How you saved me from myself

reads good would like to see some more simple wording like the word Precariously, in all my life of 73 yrs never heard that word in a general conversation , and teeter needs changing too. I have some ideas of changes if you're not set in stone on it

Thanks, Elvis
LOL...I've been writing for some time, myself. Words like "precariously", and "teeter" make it fresh.
Curious... how would you change it?

He's not a blue grass guy or country , folk has little more intelligence than giddy up cowboy

lol that giddy up cowboy sold more than folk anytime and bluegrass still packs em in, but country music today isn't like days of Jones

Yeah ole Jones in the 70ties

Thanks for understanding my need to customize my work with my own personal thumb print 😏
