A Song A Day

Hello there! A recent comment by Elvis on one of Sid's songs inspired this ditty tho' I'd been wanting to write this title for some time now. Anyway, any feedback is appreciated and will be taken into consideration. Feeling like V3 could be better....

A SONG A DAY

Well, I went to the doctor for a checkup today

And tho’ my hair’s fallen out, has streaks ‘a gray

There were no pills for Doctor Jones to prescribe

Left him scratchin’ his head but I don’t wonder why

[Chorus]

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away, yeh-ee-yeah, yeh-ee-yeah-yay

[Verse 2]

And I recall that Bruce Springsteen concert back in the day

He was jumpin’ up an’ down and all around that stage

And when you look at Mic Jagger and Keith Richards

They must be doin’ somethin’ right, you get the picture

[Chorus]

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away, yeh-ee-yeah, yeh-ee-yeah-yay, yeah-yay

[Verse 3]

And for those times when the song well runs dry

I write it down in spite of it all, don’t ask why

‘Cuz as long as I keep my pencil handy and sharp

My cup overflows as the likes of King David’s harp

[Chorus]

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away, yeh-ee-yeah, yeh-ee-yeah-ee-yay

Yeh-ee-yeah, yeh-ee-yeah-ee-yay

A song a day

Just a song a day

A song a day keeps O-BummerCare away, yeah

[Chorus]

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away

A song a day

Keeps O-BummerCare away, yeh-ee-yeah, yeh-ee-yeah-yay, yeah-yay……….

As a Brit, I'm takin' a stab here that O-BummerCare refers to Obamacare, the U.S. MEDICARE SYSTEM?

Good song along the lines of Apple-a-day, well played.

Certainly helps me get through the ageing process.

    Agree with you re v.3!

    Well done

    Sid

  • @sidshovel thanks and yeah, Obamacare is what the song refers to. Tho' it's really not called that anymore but I think enough people remember. It's good that from across the pond you recognized it!

    Renee

  • oh no , You guys had to bring up politics , Well back when I was naive sweet and handsome , I had 3 songs a day going at once

Ok I get your song Renee . Sounds good in your little Nashville concert

  • " O-BummerCare " I think this brings your song down Renee. For me it misses the mark of being witty and comedic.

There'll be people for whom it resonates, but to me it feels like something a school boy would say rather than an experienced lyricist such as yourself.

  • I loved the voice, and the chorus lyrics. Wonderful the verse “ My cup overflows as the likes of King David’s harp”
    Well done!

@RainyDayMan I hear you. When I originally, years ago, thought up the idea, I believe it was A Song A Day (keeps the doctor away). Like an apple a day. Maybe, I should just leave it at that. I really didn't intend it to be comedic as the verses really aren't, so there's that, too. Of course, I could say, A song a day keeps the Medical Mafia away....rewrite the verses to show what I mean....that's what I REALLY want to say!

    Thanks for your input,

    Renee

  • Sorry for my low knowledge but …what does O-BummerCare mean? I thought it was equivalent of”doctors”…
  • @Skandha - o-bummercare is a childish way of saying Obama care. It’s a healthcare system that allowed millions of people who normally couldn’t afford healthcare access
  • @bhengen it's a HELLcare system complete with eugenics on the back end, maybe even the front end; I won't expound but I know it to be true.....just wait for it! I equate it to the Medical Mafia. 'nough said,

    Renee

  • @Skandha you're SO right. I'm thinking of changing it to 'medical mafia'. That way there, everyone is aware. Thank you for your insight!

    Renee

  • @HummerWisdom - Renee. i've been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. you really need to get out of all the conspiracy theories, it must be exhausting to be you.

  • Thank you @bhengen and thank you Renee. I understand it’s a hot topic for you in USA, similar to battle between vax and no-vax here in Italy.

@Skandha yes, the vax battle is WORLDWIDE and for good reason as the ScamDemic was worldwide. Eff these monsters! If we don't continue to push back, they'll kill us all of which they'd love to do for their Godless AI Utopia!

Now, they wanna vax the chickens (and the bees, I heard of late) due to the phony 'bird flu'. I'm sick over it as I start each day off with 2 eggs for the wonderful protein and energy they provide; the poor man's protein being sucked from us. Paying $8 to $10 for a dozen of organic eggs at present. Was paying around $4 to $5 a few months back.

If they can't get the vax in us one way, they'll do it another. I know certain countries like China already vax the chickens. So SICK, the psychopaths running the sh*t show are!!

I wish Italy the very best as Italy appeared to be a huge target at the start of the PlanDemic in 2020. I know you lost a lot of people but NOT to Covid, but to the ventilators and the vax and I'm sorry for your loss,

    Renee 💌

  • I understand your viewpoint…but it’s a really difficult topic, and I noticed often people get angry about it. In those times I was in the middle between the excessive trust in vaccination and the excessive hate for them.
    Thank you for the clarification🤗
It’s better to talk about music!!!🤗🤗🤗
