She was a rainbow

She was a Rainbow
[intro]
Could have been November, might have been December
I met her years ago.
It’s hard to remember but it was cold weather
So, I loaned her my coat.
[Verse]
We shared a smile, spent a while in a coffee shop.
A shelter from the wind.
Two hours passed, time flew fast, we laughed start to stop.
Thought we’d be more than friends.
[Pre-Chorus]
The wind starts to blow and before you know
All your heart can feel is pain.
The weather changes moods like a woman.
The sun's shining, then there’s rain.
[Chorus]
I kissed her, I loved her.
I gave her my heart.
I loved her, I lost her.
She left with my heart.
[refrain]
She was a rainbow, she was a rainbow.
Love faded away.
[instrumental break]
[Verse]
I got her number and I wondered, is this love?
Could it be her and me?
But women like the weather, they do as they please.
Now she’s a memory.
[Verse]
The sun rises, the sun sets but I can’t forget;
Praying that she would stay.
I saw goodbye, in her blue eyes, knew she was gone.
The clouds rolled in, it rained.
[Pre - Chorus]
The wind starts to blow and before you know
All your heart can feel is pain.
The weather changes moods like a woman.
The sun's shining, then there’s rain.
[pre chorus]
I kissed her, Ioved her.
I gave her my heart.
I loved her, I lost her.
She left with my heart.
[chorus]
I kissed her, I loved her
I gave her my heart
I loved her, I lost her,
She left with my heart.
[coda]
She was a rainbow, She was a rainbow.
Love faded away.
[instrumental outro]

I'm a little confused , She left in first chorus , But you got her number in v2 . You could say I still cling on to her number , Then It makes sense . She's gone by first chorus

  • @carroll

I'm in agreement with Elvis on this one Carroll, lyrics seem to ramble a bit,

But there again, you could argue, that's a bit like the weather too.

I kept her number in the Farmers Almanac cuz like the sunshine she might come back. Now it leads to your hook women are fickled like the weather

  • @carroll lovely lyric. From a woman's perspective, men, too can be moody. No fun. Love Sucks, sometimes. I've lost more at it than I've won. Could it be me, who knows? Earlier on, I've had my 2 true loves; one lasted 8 years, the other 18 years, so there's that.

  • He’s reminiscing . Memory rarely recollects in exact chronological order.
  • Fair point, can't argue with that!
