Wrote this for one of my composers. His title and subject —which makes it easier for me to compose a lyric. CMA

Love To Live, Live To Love
Music by Darren McClure, lyrics by Charles M Anderson
___________Verse/Chorus

Guitar intro: (00:03-00:26)

Verse 1: (00:27-00:52)
(00:27-00:29) I don’t know why
(00:30-00:32) They whisper all around us
(00:33-00:35) They snicker and confound us
(00:36-00:38) If they could understand
(00:40-00:42) We are done with
(00:42-00:45) The gossip and off humor
(00:46-00:48) The smiles and small town rumors
(00:48-00:51) We need to go our way

Pre-Chorus: (00:53-01:04)
(00:53-00:58) We won’t have to worry anymore
(00:59-01:04) We’ll pack our bags, head on out the door

Chorus: (01:05-01:40)
(01:05-01:08) If we love to live, live to love
01:08-01:11) Take our cues from above
(01:12-01:16) And flee to where we’re no longer bound, I know we can
(01:17-01:20) Leave behind this one horse town
(01:20-01:23) Leave behind the pain and sorrow
(01:24-01:28) As we face a new tomorrow, I know
(01:29-01:34) We’ll take to flight to the sky like a pair of doves
(01:35-01:40) We can love to live, live to love

(Musical break)

Verse 2: (00:27-00:52)
(00:27-00:29) They don’t know us
(00:30-00:32) Though we’ve lived here all our lives
(00:33-00:35) Though the knives are in their eyes
(00:36-00:38) But they can’t see our plan
(00:40-00:42) Live our lives free
(00:42-00:45) Of prejudice and small minds
(00:46-00:48) Their shuttered hearts that confine
(00:48-00:51) We’re gonna break away

Pre-Chorus: (00:53-01:04)
(00:53-00:58) Collect our stuff, load our pickup truck
(00:59-01:04) We’ve had enough, wish ‘em all good luck

Chorus: (01:05-01:40)
(01:05-01:08) If we love to live, live to love
01:08-01:11) Take our cues from above
(01:12-01:16) And flee to where we’re no longer bound, I know we can
(01:17-01:20) Leave behind this one horse town
(01:20-01:23) Leave behind the pain and sorrow
(01:24-01:28) As we face a new tomorrow, I know
(01:29-01:34) We’ll take our flight to the sky like a pair of doves
(01:35-01:40) We can love to live, live to love

Post Chorus: (01:44-01:48)
(01:44-01:46) Love to live, live to love

Outro: (01:49-02:22)
Love to live, live to love (repeatedly, fading)

Hey, Andrea... This is a typical situation where I write the lyrics to the music. He hasn’t messaged me about the progress on the vocals yet. Hopefully he will. Thanks for your review and I’m quite pleased you like it.

Another great song about getting out of your snall town! You really should consider moving to Nashville and beckming a professional songwriter there! ;)

Yea, JD... Living out here in small town Eastern WA is not too conducive to becoming a Nashville songwriter. But I probably could just email ‘em my lyrics. In fact I know a professional songwriter who live in the U.K. and works as a Nashville songwriter. He goes there periodically for collaborative purposes. But not lately due to the pandemic.

The composer I wrote this lyric for never sent me the finished product. He, like a lot of amateur composers, kinda disappeared back into the woodwork. Sad...

Thanks for checking it out.

Charles
