Ya Know What I Mean
____________Verse/Chorus

Verse 1:
Is this a test
I need to get it straight as she slips into my car
Should I protest, she shimmies close and grabs my hand
Though I’m slightly stressed as we step in Dave’s Dance Bar
I think she thinks I’m her man

Chorus 1:
Do ya know what I mean ‘bout her
It’s hard to describe, how things occur
Stares at me with eyes clandestine
She’s extreme, ya know what I mean

Verse 2:
She whispers low
Of rendezvous we’ll share, the band plays a fast dance tune
I’m thinking go, her allure’s more than I can bear
Wish she’d take it slow, this dark booth’s like a cocoon
She says let’s have an affair

Chorus 1:
Do ya know what I mean ‘bout her
It’s hard to describe, how things occur
Stares at me with eyes clandestine
She’s extreme, ya know what I mean

Bridge:
My mind says you better think this through
So you know what your getting into
My heart says she loves, she loves, she loves you

Verse 3:
Then with a shove
She has me in a dance, it so slow we hardly move
I feel the love, her eyes say I don’t stand a chance
We fit hand-in-glove, as she pulls me in her groove
Oh, how our love has advanced

Chorus 2:
Do ya know what I mean ‘bout her
It’s hard to describe, good things occur
She smiles at me with love evergreen
Love’s her scheme, ya know what I mean

Post Chorus:
Love’s her scheme, ya know what I mean

Charles, cool message and I like how you change chorus 1 up in the last line. I don’t like evergreen in chorus 2 but I do get what you are trying to say there. Maybe change that up? I have a hard time hearing the beast for the verses but that’s nothing new for me. Cool approach to the topic.

It's a fun story. Yup, he's a fool :)

I also had a hard time with the cadence as I read it, but it may be the genre, as country it not my forte.

This one’s based on reality and that evergreen-ness is still working out for me. The rhythm of the verses will have to be worked out with the composer —whoever that may be.
