Words me; Music: Suno

Got the idea from Elvis's songs about the wolf and sheep

And lines in Owen's song - violence in the alleys /drug deals in the street.

That gang was ready to attack us for being in their territory, which we had no idea was gang territory,

What saved us was Jesse, the leader, thought I had balls standing up to him, that's why I was nicked

as a warning and not stabbed. I Actually froze stiff. The next day after they chased those jocks away,

Jesse got in my face again, this said, He ese, like how you stood up to me, that took balls. I started

laughing and told him the truth. Which we started laughing. That's how I inadvertently became friends

with a local mexican street gang.

IT was because of that association that saved my life at the movie theater

when I stupidly got into a fight with one of them. I was actually surprised, there was only 5 of them, usually there are more. but I recognized the patter, whenever they disappear like that, there is a reaon.. And before some of think you're bad asses with your 40's and 350's and you'll just take em out. not how it works. They are also packing in groups of 10+. and they come from nowhere, they strike fast.

[Refrain]

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

[Verse 1]

Walking home from school taking a new path, suddenly I hear this

"Where you goin' fool" and cold steel against my back. I stopped

and stood still, not sure what to do, when I look around, There

was 10 members of a local street gang surrounding us. I froze,

and my mind went blank. My two friends shaking, one crying,

I didn't think anything. just stood there, From back to front,

the leader was in my face, now the steel is pressed into my ribs,

"Again, I ask, where are you going fool?". he hisses. I became the sheep

to save my life. Then I felt it, the coldness as it dripped down my

stomach, blood. His gray blade had pierced my skin. The leader let us go

with a warning to never come down this street again.

[Refrain]

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

[Verse 2]

The next day in school I was getting harassed by some jocks trying to

get me, into a trash can. Teachers did nothing. Then from nowhere,

20 gang members surrounded us. The gang leader got into the largest jock's

face and took him to the ground. At that moment, the mighty jock wolfpack

became the trembling flock of sheep. Eventually teachers broke it up.

But wasn't over. The jocks who once ruled the playgrounds of sixth grade,

was humbled by the gang bangers of the seventh. new school, new rules.

At lunch, some of the jocks jumped a gang member. bad idea. The jocks thought it was over, wasn't.

I didn't see what happened, but heard, after school they waited for the jocks. it was brutal.

all ten jocks ended up in the hospital. All survived, two never came back to school.

[Refrain]

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

[Verse 3]

This is not a big city, this suburbia, where there are white picket fences

and manicured lawns, everybody is happy and acts like Mr. Rogers who

lives inside a Kincaid painting. A while later, the gang members came to school

somber, reality hit one of their own. There was anger, talk of retribution, talk

of street justice, to get the fucker that took out one of their own. This day, for

some reason I chose the forbidden path, but this time it was ok, I had gang's blessing.

Then I came upon it. The aftermath of death. The leader and some other gang members

about ten or so was standing by a curb where there where photos, wreaths and candles

burning. Then I saw it. Chipped round holes and red spatter on the painted white concrete wall that

tried to covered graffiti, Then I looked down and saw large pool of dried blood that covered

part of the sidewalk, curb and street where one of them took their final breath in a hail of bullets. From what witnesses said, he stood there as a wolf until the final shot.

[Refrain]

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white. (black and white)

[Verse 4]

After basic training at my AIT school in Colorado, my friend and our then girlfriends was at midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture show after pounding down a few fifths of jd and a few fourties of olde english. I was a wolf with liquid courage. After the movie this gang banger said something about my girlfriend, words and fists flew, before it was broken up. Thought it was over, but something didn't feel right. didn't know they followed us to the car. I just felt off, told everybody to get in and start the car and get ready to bail. Sure, enough five of them clad in trench coats walked up to the car posturing. I recognized the signs, thought he had a gun and told everybody to DUCK, shards of glass flew into the car, and I felt the cold steel crowbar grazing the back of my shaved head, just as I leaned forward, nearly taking out the windshield. Baying like a sheep and trying to shield my girlfriend, I told her to floor it. The smell and sounds of burning rubber was loud as again I felt the wind of the crowbar above my head as he took shot after shot. The tires finally gripped and we shot down the parking lot at breakneck speeds, the low-rider tried to give chase, but luckily wasn't able to maneuver down the ramp and we drove off in her brother's gray primered late 60's sleeper nova

[Outro]

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white.

Wolf or sheep, fight or flight, it's not black and white.

It's not black and white.
