Dashboard Jesus

I wanted to see how V.45 sounds like , its getting close to real

I got a buddy stuck to leather staring back at me

He's got a chipped white robe and a cracked left knee

Bouncing with the rhythm as I hit the gas

A holy little passenger who's built to last

[Verse 2]

The highway hums like a choir gone wild

Dusty winds blowing

Reckless a crazy ride

The devil trys to get to me

But he can't compete

A six inch high savior in Texas heat

[Chorus]

With my dashboard Jesus

Keep me in line

Through the red lights and the borderline

When the road gets rough and my faith loses it's bling

You're my plastic prophet through the thick and thin

[Verse 3]

Cigarette smoke curling

Halo in disguise

His eyes don't blink but they see through lies

Preacher on the radio preaching doom

But the way I see it's not happening soon

[Chorus]

With my dashboard Jesus

Keep me in line

Through the red lights and the borderline

When the road gets rough and my faith loses it's bling

You're my plastic prophet through the thick and thin

[Bridge]

He's got a few miracles

Without the parlor tricks

That steady gaze through the windshield's fix

A bobblehead blessing with a crooked smile

[Chorus]

With my dashboard Jesus

Keep me in line

Through the red lights and the borderline

When the road gets rough and my faith loses it's bling

With my Dashboard

With my dashboard Jesus

Catchy melody. a couple of times, the words seem rushed, but overall. I resampled one of my old songs done in 3.5 into 4.5 and remarkable change. Now I have this song stuck in my head.. 😡

Well it’s rap country . I've heard that guitar melody before , I think . of course it's rap , so it works. I imagine time AI gets to V7 , you won't be able to tell its robots
  • @ElvisNash - I was going to say it sounded familiar

I think I'll be retiring from recording for awhile if not forever . The cost does not make money . I can promote about 50 songs for awhile . Just play on Suno . Glovebox Apostles ha ha ha Thanks

I think the elephant in the room like AI can no longer be ignored by me to keep paying live players , unless its made a ROI

  • sad fact about technology, eventually somebody gets replaced. now they had 'droids that will replace workers at fast food. already two of the restaurants - carl's jr and burger king have AI order takers in the drive through. Mark Zuckerberg announced that they will be replacing lower and mid-level programmers with AI, these low level and mid-level hit the job boards, where I get my programming projects from..

  • Well I’ve had a good run, 20 years or more .
    The writings on the wall
I can always play on Suno once in awhile

People said the same thing about vinyl when C.D.'s came along. Now they are coveted and valued a lot more than C.D.'s will ever be.

The liklihood is that the lesser talented musicians will be the ones that lose out, the cream will always rise to the top.

  • I can’t compete with AI or young Nashville artists . It’s been coming for awhile on stopping the recording process on being the artist at 70 years old .

Sometimes it can be just as fulfilling to teach others and watch them go on to reach the heights you aimed for.

Consider how best to pass on all that skill and experience to others. Ai can't do that!

  • You can still write the songs, Elvis! Darn good ones. The professional recordings may not give you the return though now.

  • I can promote for awhile on songs done for 2 years recorded . There is no ROI though
I’ll smell the roses for awhile see what I want to do

@ElvisNash - Is this all Suno? Why does it sound similar to you and your guitar playing??

    This is really good!

Yes it's Suno , No idea why it sounds similar what I would record . It's catchy , thanks. I probably should have bookended hook , top and bottom of chorus , or a post chorus . But I'm retiring from music for awhile , if not forever

Oh, No! I hope not. Maybe you need a break. Write the lyrics and play around with Suno.

I feel we need to hear your music! You have a lot to say(sang).

Take a break for awhile , real recording is expensive and time consuming in studio's without a ROI . And the onslaught of AI songs is now taking over on all levels

  • Not for me it isn't! Each to their own. I prefer to hear the real Elvis..the voice and any instrument you happen to play. Yes, pro studio time is expensive...that's why I do what I do. If I could afford session players and a pro studio, that's what I'd do. But I can't so I won't!

    Keep up the good work.😀

This song sounds good! I hope you would re-consider, and to be honest, ROI is key. Suno is $96/year.

I remember when computers first came out and one of my coworkers were unwilling to learn and she was replaced.

    AI is here to stay.

  • Suno is nothing , I've been at this awhile trying to ROI on recordings , it never worked
