Holy Glory

I joined a 10 day songwriting workshop for Christian music. This is one of the creations that came out of that workshop that came out of a prompt to listen to nature and let the song come from nature.

Holy Glory

(Lyrics and Melody by: Francois Bessing)

Copyright 2025

[Verse 1]

Like trees stretched to the sky writhing in waves,

Like birds chattering loud singing His praise.

Like the breeze pushing the leaves,

The Spirit tugs at our hearts.

[Chorus]

Glory Glory Glory

The Earth is full of His Glory.

Holy Holy Holy

The Heaven’s filled with your Holy Glory.

The waters are stilled, they know their master.

Like fruit from the Earth blooming in season.

From the sparrow’s first cry, to the last Earthly goodbye.

[Chorus]

Glory Glory Glory

The Earth is full of His Glory.

Holy Holy Holy

The Heaven’s filled with your Holy Glory.

[Bridge]

When human injustice leads to despair,

When the conflicts of Earth seem unending.

Moses’ staff is raised right before us,

Focus on God faith is the victory

[Pre-Chorus]

Glory Glory Glory

The Earth is full of His Glory.

[Chorus]

Glory Glory Glory

The Earth is full of His Glory.

Holy Holy Holy

The Heaven’s filled with your Holy Glory.

Glory Glory Glory

The Earth is full of His Glory.

Holy Holy Holy

The Heaven’s filled with your Holy Glory.

  • I think the most important thing with a spiritual song like this is for it to feel honest and heartfelt, and I do get that feeling here.

I like the "Glory Glory Glory" and "Holy Holy Holy", it's a nice mirror that seems to work very well. And Heaven with Holy is nice alliteration.

Not sure about "writhing" in waves - I think writhing has some negative connotations. Maybe swaying?

But all up I think it's a lovely Christian song.
