Love For Myself

Every once in a while I have to remind myself...

I tried to post this in the "singer songwriter" category but that option wasn't available. Maybe RDM can move it over there... where my stuff seems to belong...

S/F, best just leave all this Ai rubbish behind, you're better than that.

Your songs speak for themselves, with a talent like yours, you will always stand out way above the rest.

This song is a typical example of your work. When I listen to it, I hear Richie Havens singing this, and he would have loved to sing such a quality song. Focus on your talent, don't get distracted.

  • We don't have a singer songwriter category. It's all together in the "Original Songs & Lyrics for Review" category.

You could tag it as Singer Songwriter if you wanted to, but that wouldn't change its location.

    Nice track! Enjoyed the listen.

  • Nice one. I always like hearing what you've got cooking.

Whoops forgot to post the lyrics...

Thanks ya’ll for giving a listen and the kind words, it helps with self love😋, could be we’re all here to get better with that.

@sidshovel Sid I’didn’t mean to bring AI into it, I’m just a bit confused about the mechanics of the site.  Looks like there’s separate topics for different music deliver forms, with posts in them.  I’m just a guy with a guitar... still working my way through trying to figure out DAW’s, Band in a Box, AI, Logic Pro, song writing forum formats, etc, etc.  As always thanks for your encouragement buddy.

    What was I thinking

Trying to be friends and not just lovers

Unlike all the other foundations of love

    That weren’t built to last

    Somewhere in the past

I heard the lesson but missed the truth

The door of trust swings wide open and then closes tight

    For dreamers and fools

I’m always trying to get the whole thing right

Forget the past and put my mistakes on a shelf

Try to feel peace  amid all  the doubts

Allow forgiveness and love for myself

Aaaaa    love for myself      ooo love for myself

    Turn around

    Where was my head at

Trying to move mountains to the moon

Thinking there was plenty of time and nothing I couldn’t do

    It’s hard to forget

and leave the bad moves in the past

Living this life is a test of the will  forgiving yourself is much harder still

If I never say it again I should’ve known better

Can I forget and forgive       and let it go

Nobody knows for sure what’s it all about

Is it something you learn… love for yourself

Aaaaa    love for yourself     oooo love for yourself

    Break—

    Does everybody have trouble?

    finding love for themselves?

Why can’t we just Jump off the ride and leave the past behind

    Bad news and bad moves

    Can’t keep me down forever

I’m forgiving myself for trying too hard, and watching it fail

The test of time might just be my best friend

So I’ll start up the day again and ride it high to the end

Whatever happens I’m gona wake up to

Knowing I’m trying and seeing it through

Clear my head  of  all  the screaming doubts

Allowing forgiveness and love for myself

Aaaaa    love for  myself  ooo love for myself    x   4

  • @StoneFlowers meant to get over to your song earlier today. I love your topic. Loving oneself is the hardest thing to do, so it's been said from what I recall. We all seem to beat up on ourselves. You, like me are fortunate to have found a place for our singer/songwriter songs where people don't just mock or jeer. It's hard going it on your own coffeehouse style; bare naked. I've been mixing mine up using some backing tracks from YouTube. I find them very helpful in writing new songs as well. Anyway, I love your songs and the efforts you put into them as well as your stone art!

I especially like your line mountains/moon; can just picture how hard that would be to do. Love your guitar work as well.

    Keep 'em coming, Cowboy!

Hey thanks girl. I forget exactly where/why this song poured out of me few years back, but I often harken back to it to remind me that...it's ok to feel jubilant love for myself. Life can be a nasty bitch from time to time...we should all take a breath and embrace ourselves.
