We've Heard it All Before
This one is written directly to the ignorant masses that cheer the rise of fascism and think the 'strength' of a dictator is valid compensation for their own weak little minds.

We've Heard it All Before
I know, we've heard it all before
Your word are fighting wars
That you're too simple to believe
So replay the words you heard 'em say
And think you're so risqué
When you're so blindingly naïve
No wonder there's a fog in your eyes
You're just so easy to hypnotize
But that swinging watch is counting our days
While we go through your phase
We pay for the games you like to play
You throw this world away
Like it's a love that done you wrong
Therefore, you start a civil war
You're settling the score
while dragging all of us along
No wonder there's a fog in your eyes
You're just so easy to hypnotize
But that swinging watch is counting our days
So snap out of your craze
No more, we've heard it all before
Your words are fighting wars
That you're too thick to understand
So replay the words you heard him say
And think you're so risque
When all your thoughts are secondhand
No wonder there's a fog in your eyes
You're just so easy to hypnotize
But that swinging watch is counting our days
While we go through your phase

Sounds pretty happy for a political song

I can enjoy how this is making a statement without being too preachy. I think overall this is a really good song. I especially like the different direction the bridge goes melodically. Nice guitar work man. I can sympathize with the overall message as well

So does "Born in the USA," "Revolution," and countless others. I think it's great to subvert expectations when matching lyrical subject to music. Curious what you think a political song should sound like? Anyway, thanks for giving it a listen.
Thanks - I originally tried lyrics in that bridge, but it just didn't feel right. I'm not a very proficient guitarist, but am happy with how that bridge turned out. And super glad you didn't get a preachy vibe from the song. I'll cop to the fact that this song is judgy and contemptuous, but I 100% don't want to be preachy!

Loving the lyrics. I like your comment about 'Born in The USA/Revolution..there a kind of irony when strong lyrics are hidden under something seemingly cheerful like this. The end has a very Abbey Road feel about it. Lovely stuff.😀

Thanks for the listen, @ChrisPrice. Interesting observation about the ending. I couldn't figure out how to end it, so I used a separate undeveloped thing I had lying around and attached it as a coda. I guess that is sorta how the Abbey Road medley happened as well 😀
