Good job Quincy, we like.

I tried some crowd sounds on a mix I was doing.  It was actually pretty funny because it turned out sounding like the Beach Boys "Barbara Ann".  I couldn't get people to be serious at the mikes with everyone making faces at each other and all.  Maybe I should just embarrass everyone involved and  post the ridiculous moment by itself. :D

Your production on this one is pretty good.  The vocals were a tad bit in competition with the music in a couple of spots, but other than that kudos my friend.

I agree...sounds good....

I like the crowd mixed in there......gives it a live performance kinda feel...

Thanks!!

Actually, I played Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Lead vocal. My Daughter did BG vocals and the rest was contributed by musician friends.  The applause was a from a Sound effect CD. Other parts, like, Flute, and accordian was done on a Roland Keyboard. It was mixed by a producer friend in Indiana.

Quincy, this is a very good song, good vocal and well produced demo.  There ought to be a market out there somewhere for this song.  Great job.

Thanks JBG! I guess I should have listed the lyrics :)

Here they are for those interested

Verse 1
Take away all the smoke and mirrors from my life.
I don't want to see my face in this place anymore.

Help me to stand up and put down those things
that are stepping on my soul.

Verse 2
I am such a different man than I was about a hundred years ago
but then again a few thing still remain the same.

In this little bag of tricks that I carry with me every where I go
is the perfect illusion, not quite a solution
but it helps me to forget the pain.

Bridge
I must get ready for the show.
They're drawing back the curtain so ready or not here I go.

Chorus
Allow me to introduce to you my beautiful assistant
then watch me as I wave my magic wand.

And if all goes as planned you will not be able to resist it
Just an incantation for a standing ovation
and a job well done for me and my bag of tricks.

Repeat Verse 1
Take away all the smoke and mirrors from my life.
I don't want to see my face in this place anymore.

Help me to stand up and put down those things
that keep stepping on my soul.

Ending tag.
Another incantation for a standing ovation
and a job well done for me and my bag of tricks.
