Congratulations, Dennis and Curtis!

A couple of outstanding members of The Songwriter's Forum!

Most of you are probably unaware of the time and effort Dennis and Curtis have spent looking out for this forum's best interests. Without the informative PMs from these Contributing members, it would have been very difficult for us to cover so much ground while activity has grown.

My thanks goes out to Dennis and Curtis for their help in the past and for accepting the official Moderator responsibilities today! My congratulations goes out to them as they're taking on this official role! The future is bright here on TSF! ........... Mike would be proud!

Guys.......... if you want to select a different color, that can be arranged. You don't have to take this kind of harsh treatment! (This member, in particular, must have trouble with authority figures!) ;)

If you like Purple........... stand tall! If you don't.............. stand a little less tall?.... and pick a new one that will work with our existing user designation colors.

Purple is very regal. It was always reserved for royalty because the dyes were so expensive to make.

Well, the first thing I'd like to say is thanks to everyone for the support, and kind words, it is very much appreciated.  I consider it to be an honor to be a part of the administration here at the greatest songwriters forum in the world, bar none... TSF!  I would like to thank Owen and Troy for giving me the opportunity, and I'll do my best to help keep it going the way Mike would have wanted.

Now, it seems that some other issues have been raised here by that BLOND haired girl from Georgia... I will address these issues right after I find out if "duff" is considered a dirty word... I'm just dyin to delete something!!!

I want you guys to know that I was on this deletion faster than you can say Fugenozellatermenite.

....but then I read the subsequent posts and put it back.

See Dennis, I've already screwed up, fixed it, and learned a lesson (always read the whole thread).

There you go....... How about that color? Royal Blue. Try that on and see what you think! Is that better. It kinda goes with Chomper's collar tag in your avatar, Dennis!

That hurts Sundown... Denny Ray aint my cousin.  He tried to pass his self off as Roys cousin so he could meet Marie Osmond but they done broke up so now he's just plain old Denny Ray and he aint got not a friend in the world besides me and I'll agree he's pretty homely lookin but he can't help it no more than you, I mean no more than Roy can but he saw your post and called me and told me to tell you that he works out and has a great body and has a good picture of his self in a Speedo swim suit he'll post to prove there's more to him than an ugly face and buck teeth and if you don't believe it I gotta warn you that he aint lyin cause Denny Ray don't lie about nothin and he wants to be a purple mod now to so he can join that Red Hat deal and go to the events to meet chicks but he's afraid bein masculin he'll meet the wrong ones but he's willing to take the chance so whenever you're ready give us a call and I'll bring the biggest bucket of paint I can find... what shade of lipstick would you recommend?

I am still in shock that hillbilly from Arkansaw went and tried to take the glasses off of MY avator and put them on that poor imitation of a monkey (or is it a dog) on  his avatar.  I guess now that he is moderator he thinks he can just do as he darn well pleases.  Well I'm madder 'n hell and I ain't gonna take it anymore.  That takes a lot of nerve to try and copycat my avatar.  I guess he thinks if he can look like me he can sing like me but that ain't gonna happen.  Now that Darius Rucker just got  best new male country artist of the year, that left a vacancy for the lead singer on Hootie and the Blowfish and they came to me to fill the spot.  So, since traditional country has up and died I have decided to cross over to that other side and the next time you see me I'll be right up there with the Blowfish.  We had to change the name to Tootie and the Blowfish cause Hootie went country, so I'll see you on the charts.  :P

dang Roy!  Now Denny Rays runnin around tellin everyone his cousin is the lead singer for tootie and the blow fish... and you just made me bust out laughin at 1:30am and wake the misses up!!! :D... that can be a dangerous situation!  I'll be watchin for you guys to come to our area and send me some backstage passes... on second thought make that row 25 in the front, Tootie.

This is just great.  One of the two new moderators posted in the shout box he is taking off for the weekend to go fishing and the other said he just got back from the shrink. Maybe this job is harder than we thought. :)

A few minutes ago I was crying my eyes out over a song I read and now I'm LMAO!  Another good one, Sir! You're just full of it today, aren't you? :rollface:rollface:rollface:rollface

But Roy, I got a feeling that in the very near future we're going to be needin' an 'in-house shrink' on duty 24/7 around here!  And this has nothing to do with the new Mods! Well, ....maybe just a little! ;)

Thanks for doing that Troy!  I do feel more confident and I need all I can get... just look behind us.  There's a lady who's taking two men wearing wigs and dressed in purple to a Red Hat Society event... a guy that has contests with his mule to see who can stink the most... and a monkey who thinks he's the lead singer for "Tootie and the Blowfish"... this place is nut's I tell ya!!!

Sounds like a great idea. I missed all the fun last time but got to read through much of it the following week. The discussion that week was hillhairyarss! We can plan it out in the Board Room, pick a week in January(?) with the holidays complete, and wrangle up some new ideas to improve upon the annual event.

I don't mean to be a stubborn horse about this, but wasn't it called "Cowboy Week" specifically? If we're gonna talk about this, I thought I better ask up front.

It seems to me it was in April last year.  I know it was after Mike passed away, which was around March 20.

Roy, I think Mike was still here when we did cowboy week and if I'm not mistaken we had cowboy open mic one week then turned right around and did the Valentine's open mic the next week. If that's the case it was in Feburary when we did it. But I'll go right now and check the archives and let you know for sure.

Yep, it was Feburary! Does that sound okay to everyone or would you perhaps like to hold it on the date Roy mentioned of March 20th in remembrance????  Please give me some input on this and let me know what sounds good to you guys. I also have a request. If no one has any objections, no matter what date we decide on, I'd like for Wide Open Spaces to headline the next event.  As we all know Mike was a cowboy at heart so he somehow has to be included in our cowboy round-ups.  Again, let me know what you think.  Thanks.

I think the week of March 20 would be an excellent idea in commemeration of Mike's passing.  No need to call it a tribute or anything like that, just a date that would be fitting.

I agree on not making it a tribute, Roy. I think it should be a fun filled event as I feel in my heart of hearts that this how Mike would have preferred it. But I too think the the week of March 20th would be very fitting for another Cowboy Week at the old TSF corral.  Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Oops! Sorry Troy, it just dawned on me that you said we would hash out the details of Cowboy Week in the Board Room. Sorry 'bout that! But if you would prefer I continue this in the Board Room just give me the word and it's done! :D

This all sounds great! March 20th is a Saturday. I think it would be best to have the climax/conclusion of Cowboy Week fall on or near the day of Mike's passing rather than kicking off the weeklong event with that date.

So....Sara, this Cowboy Week topic will be a hot one with plenty of discussion so I think it warrants having a dedicated thread in the Board Room. If you would like to start it out, I suggest using a title like Cowboy Week - 2010 with a description showing the dates March 14th-21st or March 13th-20th since it will end up in the subject line of so many email notifications in the coming months.

I hope that sounds OK to everyone. We'll discuss it further in that forum.

Troy, I agree on having it 'prior' to Mikes passing rather than after. So it's agreed then...the next Cowboy Friday Night Open Mic will be March 19, 2010. :D

I will now be hitching-up this wagon and rolling it into the Board Room, little doggies, so see you there!

Yep I think it was the mule that was called "Stinky" but I seem to recall he never liked to stand downwind from me too much either

I think I was "Kid Rancid" or something like that.

I also seem to recall that Stinky was making eye's at Dennis's horse for a bit there.

Oh the fun is gonna be had this year!
