Convenient Love
Lyrics and music Copyright © 2009 Shane Thomson

You say that you love me
And that we were meant to be

Tell me that you want me
That of all the boys you chose me

Say again that you need me
Oh how could you do without?

Please let me know that you miss me
As much as I miss you

I think of all those cold lonely nights
Made warm by sweet promises

What ever happened
To the eager and blushing lover to be

I don't think that you miss me
Or even think of me

Don't say that you need me
You just need someone

You don't really want me
You just don't want to be alone

Don't say that you love me
For you're just in love with love

And all of this that you said to me
Was not of your heart but out of desperation

You said you'd never leave me
Now you're nowhere to be found

Hey Shane, it's good to see you back in open mic.  This is a real piece of art... you are without a doubt the most creative person music wise that I've ever known... heck man! you've got your own genre of music!  Seriously, what would you call it if you were to put a label on it?

 I enjoyed listening!

Very theatrical Shane! Both the vocals and the music. The synth puts me in mind of a carousel or calliope sound. I can almost picture a black-suited villain with a waxed moustache :)

Definitely different. lol.  But that's to be expected.  However, I enjoyed the listen, mostly to see what was going to happen next.

Hey Shane, when I see your name on a song I know I'm going to here something that's a lot different then the norm, so another unique song. Interesting .

I could not do something like this but  I did enjoy listening:)

Shane I like how you did this one up.  Neat music combined with some good vocals.

Good job, I really enjoyed this.

James.

I wasn't sure how this one was going to be received.  I started out with the chords and played around with them for a while, then decided to write lyrics.  Almost immediately I decided that full-tilt cheezy was required.  I also decided to use a cassette tape simulator effect rack that I recently designed to make it even worse.   Hope you all got a kick out of it:P

Thats it!!! :D If I can figure out how to wire a mic up to my brain when I'm having a flashback, I'll post some in the same genre.

I can't believe that Dennis even had to ask that...............sheesh, everybody knows that.

Shane,
I'm impressed with your creativity and fortitude. Great job.

I don't know why but this song really reminded me of the group.... The cars.....maybe not the entire song but I could see them using this sound and style as a lead in to one of their songs........I liked this one!!!

That was pretty wild Shane! It does some how remind me of the cars a little bit and for some reason I want to go out and play the original arcade game of "Pong". You didn't put a subliminal message in there did ya? Enjoyed it.

Shane, we never know what you have up your sleeve when you post a song, but we always know it's going to be interesting, so you definitely keep us coming back to listen! :)  Cool music, nice lyrics and good vocals...and it's nice to have you back in open mic.

The electronic sounds are based on the Casio SK-1, my first keyboard ever.  I actually took samples of it and made a soundfont from it.  Thus, your urge to play Pong :D

I consider the fact that you were reminded of The Cars a compliment.

"it's nice to have you back in open mic."

Thanks Sam!  It's good to be back.  I wish that I could participate more often, but I tend to be slow in churning out music.  Wish I had help LOL.
