Well, my wife is the worst critic I could imagine, but she actually likes this little ditty I came up with today while she was shopping, maybe she just happened to be in a good mood from shopping, I don't know...

It's actually not about her, I was thinking about this guy at work that complains endlessly then ended up changing it around to be about a girl.

Buck It Up Baby

What you’re telling me is
You don’t like the present situation
Forever fussin and whining
that your life ain’t fair
Now don’t try and convince me
that things ain’t good
Yeah, you’d move on baby
But I don’t think you should

Buck it up it baby
I want to see you grin
Buck it up baby
All that bi***in’s a sin

I know my problems
aren’t any worse than yours
Come to think if it baby
My soul just soars
Well, let me tell you
And it’s not that I don’t care
But all your complaining
Is starting to wear

Buck it up it baby
I want to see you grin
Buck it up baby
All that bi***in’s a sin

The grass ain’t greener
On the other side
Well that guy on the TV
He just up and lied
Where ever you are
That’s where you’ll be
Ain’t no better place girl
Than right here with me

Buck it up it baby
I want to see you grin
Buck it up baby
All that bi***in’s a sin

Can you do bass, Darcy? Really think that would add to this track.
As a minor sug I would change 'aren’t any' worse than yours to 'aint' to make it fit.

Thanks for the feedback!  I'll switch that "aren't"!

I have been thinking about buying myself a bass to lay down bass tracks (obviously none of my songs have any bass).  I thought about laying down bass tracks with the guitar and using Cubase to lower them an octave but it just didn't sound right.  Maybe after the Christmas season is over I'll splurge on some more gear!

Yeah, I've tried doing that with Cubase too and you're right, it doesnt work. Do you have a keyboard? Some of the MIDI synth basses come out alright.

The title of this thread and your comments on your wife gave me the laugh of the day. Salud!

Maybe someone should write a song called 'My Wife Actually Likes This One'...
