Folks, here is the Halloween Lyrics Contest winner just back from the studio.  I'm sure you will also claim it a great job and fantastic demo!  Congrats to Karen Brown for being our second contest winner!

Devil's Bend

© 2008 Karen Hickman Brown

v1
We raced the road at midnight through the dark Kentucky hills
Just a bunch of kids gone wrong, looking for another thrill
We were running neck and neck comin' up on Devil's Bend
Until we tried to make the curve doin' close to 110.

C
Some folks say you could see the crash from 20 mile away
The midnight sky glowed an eerie red bright as the break of day
They say the fire chief said a prayer when he came on the scene
He said, "The devil came to claim his own on this All Hallow's Eve"

v2
We made a pact with the devil so that we would never die
Never dreaming he'd come to collect on that very night
Cursed to walk that lonely stretch until we claim 100 souls
At midnight up on Devil's Bend you'll see us standing in the road

C
Some folks say you could see the crash from 20 mile away
The midnight sky glowed an eerie red bright as the break of day
They say the fire chief said a prayer when he came on the scene
He said, "The devil came to claim his own on this All Hallow's Eve"

Bridge
The night gets black as Satan's soul in those Carter County hills
And up on Devil's Bend, we're waiting for you still

C
Some folks say you could see the crash from 20 mile away
The midnight sky glowed an eerie red bright as the break of day
They say the fire chief said a prayer when he came on the scene
He said, "The devil came to claim his own on this All Hallow's Eve"

OMG! This is wonderful! And that laugh! The voice is just perfect...it matches exactly what I heard in my head when I wrote the lyrics. These guys are great! My thanks to them for such a wonderful job! lol...I've run out of superlatives for the moment. I'm just awed.

Okay I don't mean to say this in any way to take away from the song, lyrics, and what they did, but that laugh is killer!  I wasn't expecting it and it fits so well.  Man it was brilliant to throw that in.

Great lyrics and the song turned out fantastic.

James.

Thanks, y'all! (Sorry I hadn't responded before, Jeff, MG, and Granny. I didn't think to come back here until I saw Brenda's post!) I think they did a wonderful job on the demo. I wish I could take credit for thinking of that laugh!
