Ha, you question it, so there must be a reason.  I ask myself, have I ever stood in the rain and smelled apple blossoms.  Don't think I have.   Of course, if you were standing in an apple orchard in the spring, you might smell the apple blossoms, but you would smell that even if it didn't rain. What I have smelled is the smell of the fresh rain itself.  Everyone knows that smell.  So why not say:

As the smell of the fresh rain fills up the air

Doesn't have to be eactly that, but something similar

In your first verse, you say: Offer no relieve.  I think you used that to rhyme with believe, but it is not grammatically correct.  That would be: Offer no relief.  I think you could say that and still have what that call a slant rhyme or whatever they call it.  It would be close enough to sound OK.

Other than that, I am like Sean, would like to hear you sing it, as I think you guys have a good one here.

OH...lol that was a typo...."relieve" was supposed to "relief"  thanks for keeping an open eye.........lol

Glad it was a typo.  Now, my old english teacher can quit turning over in her grave.  You know we have an edit button, you can fix it:)

I like it Crystal, it would be nice to hear you do it. If you think the apple blossom doesn't work, change it. Roy had a good idea about the smell of fresh rain, we all been there.

Sometimes it's good to work on an old song, and freshen it up. As You have different perspectives and your craft improves with each song. It ain't over til someone cuts it and it's on the radio.

Churning the dirt reminds me of the drunk who was walking thru the cemetary.  It was raining and he came up on an open grave that had been dug for somebody the next day.  Well, he slipped and fell in and couldn't get out.  He started hollering, "please help me I'm cold" over and over.  Finally, another drunk comes walking by and upon hearing the hollering goes over to see what is going on.  Comes upon the drunk in the bottom of that hole hollering "please help me I'm cold" and he replied, of course, you are cold, you done kicked all your dirt off of you.  :D Am I bad?

Mike...thank you...I would like to re-do some things like I said...not sure I can re-fresh it up...for the simple fact..sometimes...you just have creative differences with people....and the track that was sent to me..had some mistakes in the playing..I ask for another...and the 2nd was just as bad...so I am trying to get this band to maybe work up some music for me...so I can re-do it....

Roy ...your awlful!!  :)

Good work Crystal I really like the lyrics, and yes the apple blossoms are a little out of place, could go along the line of,    as his peaceful love, gently fills the air,  or something along that line,
