Let it Snow     ©2007 by Arthur Holt

V1

It's a snowy night in Cleveland
The plows are out tonight
We are pushing 16 hours
We are putting up a fight
It's not going to stop
For two day Iv'e been told and
I got 3 long shifts to pull so
Let it snow,  let it snow

Chorus

Hey, I'm the snow plower driver
Give me some room tonight
I'm pushing 16 hours and
My knuckles are turning white
As the snow piles up
Down the road I go
snow's the only thing on my mind so
Let it snow, let it snow

Break

V2

If you get a glimpse of me
Through my side window
You'll see my face a  grimacseing
With the drul  starting to show
And my eyes are bugged out  just like so( eyes wide open for visual effect)
You'll  know what's on my mind is snow so
Let it snow, let it  snow

Hey, I'm the snow plower driver
Give me some room tonight
I'm pushing 16 hours and
My knuckles are turning white
As the snow piles up
Down the road I go
Snow's the only thing on my mind so
Let it snow, let it snow

Arthur, we dont get much snow here but when we do, I like to drive around in it at night.  The streets are empty and everything is quiet, I could picture myself being a snowplow driver.  but then I guess it might get old after awhile.

Good write.......send some snow down this way.

Yayyyy! Snow Day!!!

Good one, Art!!!!  In my minds eye I can see you just rolling down the streets in that snow plow pushing snow out of the way!!! LOL  I really liked the 'visual effects'  too! I wonder if everybody who reads this will do what I did.....when I read that part I stretched my eyes wide open just to see what you were talking about!!! LOL

Nice snowy song to go with all the Christmas goings-on around here lately!!!  Really enjoyed it, Artie !!!!!

But, pleeease Art, don't send us any...haven't you heard, we Southerners can't drive worth a flip in snow!!! :(

Great song takes me back to the days when I lived in Ohio. I miss the snow. And though we really appreciated the work you do, its much easier to drive on roads that have been plowed and salted, hate to see you pull out in front of me. It means I wont be able to see and my car will be pelted with salt no matter how much room I give you.

Thanks it was a great song ... Now I will just sit here and dream of a white Christmas

Ice , I have been on both side of the plow and what you say is true, getting pelted with salt is no fun. I have a white yard now and looks like  Christmas here.

Merry Christmas.

A little revision to the first verse

Let it Snow     ©2007 by Arthur Holt

V1
It's a snowy night in Cleveland
The plows are out tonight
Snow  is pileing  higher
I'm trying to get it right
It's  not going to stop

Let it snow,  let it  snow
Chorus

Hey, I'm the snow plower driver
Give me some room tonight
I'm pushing 16 hours and
My knuckles are turning white
As the snow piles up
Down the road I go
snow's the only thing on my mind so
Let it snow, let it snow

Break

V2

If you get a glimpse of me
Through my side window
You'll see my face a  grimacseing

Let it snow, let it  snow

wow !!!

There is only one place I love snow !!!!

In photos !!!

I like to see it but don't want to live in it.
Here in the south, it disrupts society's
functionality. Let a school admin see
one flake, and school let's out, then parents
leave work, then cops are called out to
work all the road accidents cuz it's a proven
fact that rednecks can't drive in the snow.
First thing we do is hit the brakes .... WRONG !!!

So the perfect Redneck Snow mobile
is a redneck driving in the snow

Art absolutely beautiful!!! Thanks for the snow even if it was only in a picture.

Perhaps when I make a trip up that way some time in the near future y'all can do a repeat just for me...lol So you can put the work order in now it will likely be sometime around the New Years. I had plans for that week but they got cancelled so I just might try to come home for a while. "So please have snow and mistletoe... "

Thanks for the picture that was very thoughtful of you.

OMG...they've got nekkid trees. Only thing that white around here is the sand and the snowbirds' legs! lol

Jeff forgot to mention...at the first hint of snow, we all go stand in line at the grocery store, buggies full of bread and milk and canned goods. We might not need anything, but we're gonna stand in line any way....It's a law, I think...lol. I've still got family in Ohio, even went to visit them for Thanksgiving a few years ago. Within 10 minutes of leaving I-71, I was sitting door-deep in a ditch full of snow. I don't miss it a bit!

Art, I'm not sure but that I like the first version of the 1st verse better, especially that 4th line...

I'm trying to get it right

I think the 1st version works better...just an opinion.

Art, it was so sweet of you to do that for Angel.  It looks very Christmas-y there!!

Jeff, I don't know where you live,  but it's gotta be in the South because you and Karen nailed it!  Just let a weather forecaster here say there's a possibility of snow and the grocery stores will sell out of milk, bread and bottled water.  Why the bottled water I'll never know, but I guarantee the shelves will empty in a heartbeat!  Driving in the stuff is a no-no here too and if you do, you take your life into your own hands. Some years ago I left the house just as it started to snow and went to the pharmacy to get a prescription filled, when I came back out the parking lot was covered in white.  It took me twenty minutes or more just to get my car out the parking lot but only a couple of them to slip into the first ditch I came too!  I won't leave the house anymore when it snows, I know absolutely nothing about driving in it!

Art, I too think the first version was the best!

Yeah I dont really miss the cold (I am a freeze baby... need a good man to keep me warm lol) I just understand you cant have the snow without the cold. I saved that picture to my computer so now every time I miss the snow I can at least look at a picture. Hopefully it will hold me over till I can get up there and go sled riding or better riding a sled behind a fourwheeler. Sure we bout killed ourselves but it was fun.

I'm glad you like the snow picture.

I have done a simple recording of  this little ditty and will enter it in the Friday night open Mic. I'll  be glad when I get to 40 songs so I won't have to embarrass myself any longer.LOL

I've also got to tell ya.....I laughed out loud when I read what you said about having to watch out for the southerners coming to town, but I'm afraid you aren't far from wrong...we want hurt you, but we would probably make you hurt yourself!!! LOL
