Rob, I came back to check on ya and see how this one is coming along....I mean after the viewing that is....and I like it just as much today as I did Friday! LOL

Rob, did you do some rewriting on verse III?  I can't remember exactly how it read on Friday, but I said then that I thought " There's " sounded better, but just now when I read it...It's only Country on my radio... sounds better!  If you didn't rewrite then please disregard my previous comment/suggestion on that line, 'cause that looks great!

Oh and I almost forgot...that thingy you got from Mike about writing a short story and then working on the rhyme scheme, well, I like that idea too!  I'm about to copy that post over in 'Word' and keep it handy.  You folks are so smart!!!!

Sam I did do an edit an incorporated part of your suggestion into one of the lines. The hook line I'm playing around with, It will all depend on what sounds more natural as I sing it. I've found that some words are eaiser or sound better than others as I sing. My family thinks I'm crazy but I'll read aloud lyrics as if I'm having a conversation, it helps to determine what inflection I put on different partrs of the verses and chorus. As far as being smart... well I give Mike all the credit in that department. :D.... I'm just a student when it comes to this stuff.

Me too Rob...I didn't know how much I didn't know about songwriting until I joined the forum!  But, judging by the songs I've been seeing coming from your way lately, I'd say you 'bout got a handle on it!  This one looks like an open mic song to me.  Hint, hint!

I was really busy this weekend but I did find a couple of hours to work out a melody and make a rough draft of "Country on my Radio". Its just a mono recording of me and my guitar and vocals but it will give you an idea of where I want to go with the song.

You can take listen here: http://www.jamwave.com/RobYoung

It is a terrific song, Rob!!!!  That doesn't sound alot like you on vocals, though I know it is.  Did you put some twang in your vocal for this? ;)   :clappingface

Thanks Brenda and Tricia... I was originally going to do a "Dean Martin" voice on this one but my alter ego "Country Bob" tapped me on the shoulder and shook his head and said "Son let me show you how it''s done" Who am I to argue with "Country Bob".. he drives a truck and owns a gun.

Granny I started that rumor and I was teasing Sam a bit after she was trying to get me to do an open mic. ...but now that you mention it it would be fun to hear. I'll bet she really can sing.
