I've had this one for a little bit now.  I figured I would dust it off to try to get something going.  I'm in a terrible rut with ideas lately.  If anyone wants to collab or just give me some opinions on what I have so far, I would really appreciate it.  Thanks!

never thought I'd find a love so true
Girl, you know how to ease my weary mind,
all I have to do is look into your eyes.

It's a new day, and I got you on my mind, now baby
I can't wait for tomorrow
It's a new day, you know i never thought I'd say,
I can't wait for tomorrow

Jason, nothing wrong with what you got going here.  I would suggest we move this down to the "Works in Progress" forum so you can pick up a collobarator to hash it out.  Let me know and I will bump this thread down.

Mike - Sounds good, please bump it down.  I didn't see that forum or I would have posted it there.  Thanks!

Jason, I'm just throwing some thoughts out there. Do you have music, or a melody your working with? If so I would love to hear it and maybe give you some ideas for lyrics.

You've paved the same old roads into something new 11
never dreamed that I'd find a love so true  10
only you can ease this troubled mind  9
I found my peace deep in your eyes  8

Man, I really dig what you have going on there!  I'm going to try to work that in with the melody.

I put a rough cut together for you to get the vibe.  It's an upbeat, poppy number.  I'd appreciate any help!

Oh man I really like how you've got that chorus popping there. I'll see what I can come up with for another verse if you don't mind. Not looking for credits, just really like this tune.

Hey Jason,

As a side note....... While I was at your page over on soundclick, I found a beautiful song called "Heavens Not To Far Away", I just wanted to say that is such a wonderful song, I was singing humming smiling and swawing every time I listened to it.

Thanks guys and thanks for the props on 'Heaven's Not Too Far Away'.  That's one of my favs and very special to me.  I'm glad you dug it.

I like your idea for the 2nd verse.  I think we need to hash it out a little bit though.  You definitely see where I was going with this.  I pictured myself driving and just digging life and love.  I wrote this when I was kind of down.  I guess I needed a pick me up.  Maybe we should mention I was down, but now I'm driving and feeling good, being in love and now I look forward to another day.  Do you think the title is appropriate for the tune?  Or, should it be 'I Can't Wait to See Tomorrow'?  Thanks for your help and you'll most certainly get credit if I use your lines/ideas.

I think the tomorrow hook is a little stronger, than the other, but both are good. Maybe wait and see what road this song ends up going down as we take it for test drives, and the hook will be clearer before changing names. I'll give it some thought today and see if I can come up with some ideas to present to you. The sylable counts ok for the verses?

I'm loving this song so far!!!  I can hardly wait to hear the finished product, I'll just sit back and watch the song unfold. :D

Some more thoughts, let me know what you think. Anything or everything you don't like just let me know, I would love another stab at it.

You paved the same old roads into something new  11
never dreamed I'd find a love so true  9
only you can ease my weary mind,   9
I found my peace deep within your eyes.  11

It's a new day, and I got you in my mind, now baby
I can't wait to see tomorrow
It's a new day, you know i never thought I'd say it baby
I can't wait for tomorrow

I’m living laughing loving life now with you 11
I don't see me ever being blue  9
my darkened world has found a new light 9
we will both dance in it tonight 8

It's a new day, and I got you on my mind, now baby
I can't wait to see tomorrow
It's a new day, you know i never thought I'd say it baby
I can't wait for tomorrow

New horizons now are coming into view 11
and girl it's all because of you    8

LIFT ?
It's a new day 4
yeah you broke me from my shell of sorrow  10
now I can't wait to see tomorrow 9

It's a new day, and I got you on my mind, now baby
I can't wait to see tomorrow
It's a new day, you know i never thought I'd say it baby
I can't wait for tomorrow

I'm digging these lines:
my darkened world has found a new light 9
we will both dance in it tonight 8

The first 2 lines of the second verse catch the vibe, but maybe we can word it better.  I'm going to try to tweak it a bit myself and maybe we can see what we both come up with.

I dig the lift idea!  (Now I just need to write a lift...HAHAHA!)

I like the alternate chorus in the end.  'sorrow' might be a little too heavy of a word for such a poppy vibe though.

Now we have some great ideas to work on.

Jason,

More ideas for the second verse curse, let me know if you like any of these better.

That lonely road now is in the past  9
now that I found a love that will last  9
my darkened world has found a new light 9
we will both dance in it tonight 8

That lonely road that brought me to you  9
made room in my heart for two 7
my darkened world has found a new light 9
we will both dance in it tonight 8

My futures brighter girl when I look at you  11
I've found new life in your eyes so blue      9
my empty world now is filled with light 9   or empty room?
we both will dance in it tonight 8

it's a new day, since I got you in my life - now baby

Awesome stuff!  I sat down to work on this last night and the power went out.  Do you think that's some kind of sign?  LOL!  Hopefully I'll get a chance to hit it tonight.  Keep the ideas flowing!

Maybe not an omen, could just be telling you to take it slow. Do you think the road to completion for this tune will need to cross a bridge?
