Here you go Barry, try this old music idea out. Sort of Eagles-like. It's not real good and I can't get to the orginal tracks right now to update it. If you guys want to use it, I will try and resurrect it.
-Mike
As I’m watching television
at our favorite tiki bar
I see it’s snowing where you are
The palm trees are softly swaying
a soulful guitar mans playing
a song that’s breakin my heart
He’s singing songs of love and laughter and of happy ever after’s
as young lovers go walking on the beach
of flowered shirts and sun burnt noses how happy hour here never closes
it feels like it’s freezing in the keys
As I watch another sunset
with white sand between my toes
I wonder where did our love go?
That red ball just hit the ocean
and I can’t help the notion
that this don’t feel so tropical
The warm breeze don’t help the aching my broken heart just keeps on breakin
oh it must be ninty degrees
and as my frozen drink is thawing I know there’s no use in calling
it feels like it’s freezing in the keys
Mike, you posted an instrumental awhile back, I haven't been able to find it anywhere, but thats what we were thinking of while we wrote this tempo wise. I don't believe it had a name.

Barry...Outstanding lyrics. I think You and Danny got a gem here. Roll with it Bro'.

This thing started in a conversation between Danny and I. I told him how cold it was here in Florida last November, and he was laughing at me telling me I had no idea what cold was. Then he said that would be a cool hook, freezing in the keys. We have been sending this thing back and forth via email for awhile now, but it's just been sitting for a month or so. So I figured I'd post it up for advise, on how to make it better.
To me this lyric just doesn't go anywhere. It's just a guy in paradise complaining at this point. Seems like it needs a destination, or maybe an idea of how this came to pass? I'm not sure, that's why I threw it out for discussion.

Thanks Brenda those look like good ideas. I just feel it needs to make a turn or something somewhere. Reminding me of what we once had is a great idea. Something besides a beach bum whining. Thanks
Hey, I agree with you Red - I think that's why we've been stalled on this thing for so long now. What I wanted us to get to is that catchy something that sets up the Freezing in the Keys line. I just haven't been able to find it yet. I've always thought that the setup rhyme is "degrees" to offset the freezing in the keys, but the exact phrase eludes me.
Bren, those are some good suggestions. We'll have to see if we can get them in there. I like the "reminding me of how we use to be".

Barry and Danny, the guy is heart broken so I do not think that you can really turn that around with this one. He's missing her and thinking that maybe she's missing him?
Mike, No rush or anything, but if you still have this laying around, could you send me an mp3 of the music so I could load it into Audacity and play with it some? TandBWilliams06@yahoo.com would be the email addy if you can.
MP3 is on it's way. In case it is too large for youre email, I have also sent it through YouSendit.com. You will get a notice from them that a file is waiting too.
